What's for dinner Thursday?

I don't know about you, but I may not eat again for a week! I set the dinner hour for two and, by golly, we ate at 2:00. Everything turned out so good and the kitchen smelled delicious. The turkey was perfectly browned and I had my first shot at carving. Have to say I did great! The kids just left and now I'm ready for bed--or at least a nap.

I hope your day was as nice as ours. Have you had Thanksgiving yet, or are you having it this evening?

Friend's son just left and now my GS is coming for his serving of country lo boy. No nap for me, today!

Not eating another thing today. I didn't eat any dessert today, maybe some tomorrow. No nap for me either Glenda, I am off to bed really soon. Delivered some food to a friend that couldn't come and sent food home with the kids.

I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

wow, chicken livers... haven't had them in a LONG time. Sauteed chicken livers used to be a comfort food for me! Most people I know now would rather starve than be forced to eat a chicken liver. I can't imagine a restaurant selling them. lol! Great. Now I'm craving either chicken liver, beef liver, or liverwurst. ;p Good thing I have a chocolate cake in the oven! :)

Old Fixer, I find that the weeds are terrible to pull when the soil is bone dry. I usually leave the root in the soil. :( Fun, I smiled when I read what your dinner was. Did you pop it on the stove, or microwave? We had chili from the freezer. I like mine over rice with a dollop of yogurt to tame the heat.

Soft foods...yuck!!! I had sinus surgery last Friday and still can't do any chewing for another week. I am sick of yogurt, broth, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, etc... My dream meal for tonight is a crusty sourdough baguette slice topped with olive tapenade. My entree will be a steak with sautÃÂ©ed mushrooms and a ceasar salad and more crusty bread! A big peanut butter cookie for dessert!

This won't be the healthiest dinner posted, but I've had about 30 interruptions today and I don't even have sheets back on the bed from this mornings laundry yet. Just sat down to do DH's invoicing, I'm having two Tylenol and a glass of iced tea. Asked DH, would you like bacon, toast and eggs, or do you want to grill hamburgers for us, and he said bacon and eggs ;)

I didn't get a nap either--I just feel like I need one now. I didn't eat dessert either, Sue. I sent most of the food home with my DD. I just love Thanksgiving!

Ours was lovely too.

We had reservations for 1 o'clock, and we all converged on the restaurant a few minutes early. Dinner was: assorted bruschetta, Caesar Salad, Italian salad, turkey with foccacia sausage stuffing, ham, cranberry sauce, creamed corn, mashed sweet potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, baked ziti with meat sauce, 4 cheese ravioli with pesto cream sauce and marinara. And then pumpkin praline cheesecake and some gourmet chocolate cake.

And we left with THREE shopping bags full of leftovers! The restaurant serves family style and sends all the stuff left in the serving bowls home with you.

Don't think I'll be eating anything this evening. I'm still stuffed.

We had ham, chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, green bean bundles, sweet potato casserole,cranberry and raspberry relish and for dessert - that icecream sandwich, Kool-Whip,Pinterest thing and it was all good. Chihuahua and I are in the recliner together and we're BOTH yawning! LOL

I was only supposed to have one Thanksgiving meal today, but my plans changed mid-morning. I ended up going to two different places. Just got home a little while ago. I'm stuffed and exhausted.

All your Thanksgivings sound so nice. The important part is being with family. After all the food today, I'm seriously considering soup and grilled cheese for next year's meal ;-)

Now I really, really have to go to bed! I sort of got a second wind when Harry's sister called. She always brightens my day. Nite all and sweet dreams.

Ours was very nice. We went to my BIL's house. DH's cousin & his family traveled from GA. DH's parents came & I was able to convince my dad to come as well. We had all the usual Thanksgiving food & everything was delicious.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at a truck stop!

Actually, we'll celebrate Saturday due to work schedules, but my son and his girl drove in from Atlanta on Thursday getting here about 5. We had planned on dinner at a good local Thai restaurant that had claimed they only closed on Christmas Day. However. . . And when we drove all around trying to find something open, the only place we knew would be open was the truck stop.
