Cold front came thru last night. Went to bed with bedroom window ac unit on, 66 last night and woke up, and it was down to 52 outside. Had living room door open, so closed it, turned the heat on and went back to bed.

Very very windy!

Lloyd's for lunch: half hamburger plate with dry baked potato and butter peas. Heard the grilled bread upon the asking so I did and they fixed me one. Delicious! They don't do it on weekends cause they are way too busy.

Cool, cloudy day with on and off drizzle. Possibly having wet flurries tonite.

We're on our way out the door.......hubby has a gig tonite and he'll be using his pink drums again! One of the guys teased him last weekend, saying that they sounded real good.....for pink! hahaa.

Just finished pasta puttanesca. One of our favourite quick pasta meals.

We had the cold front too, it's now 63 outdoors.
We had our Garden Club Thanksgiving luncheon and meeting at Furrs Cafeteria, tons of food to chose from. Was a great day. Beautiful but chilly. Wish it would stay this way a while.

Tonight we will have Pizza while watching the OU Sooners game.

Rainy day here, too. Your Thanksgiving meal sounds like fun, Patti. I do whatever I can the day before. I may make some rolls when I get back from my trip and pop them in the freezer. Might do an apple pie ahead of time, too. We'll see. Just DH, my son and a friend for us. Gosh, I sure hope the bathroom and closet will be finished by then!!

DH is going to have his leftover fish and chips. I might just have a bowl of oatmeal. I want something hot but don't feel like cooking.

Nice here today, they say very chilly for the next few days. This is my kind of weather.

Patti, it is good you are going to have a full house for Thanksgiving. I know how much you love to cook. This is telling me you are feeling better & better.

Hubby had to go to the Dr's today. Something is wrong with his eye. dinner was ham steak with baked potatoes.

I was gone most of today with Cheryl. We had coupons for breakfast so we went to Steak and Shake. She had a nice pile of blueberry pancakes and whipped cream and I had biscuits and gravy. It cost us under $6.00 for both meals! We did not have lunch, so my supper was, out of my freezer. Meatloaf, mac and cheese and fried apples. I hope you do enjoy your Thanksgiving Patti.

It'll be cream of cauliflower soup with onions, celery, carrots, and diced turkey ham. I'll warm up some crunchy French bread to go with it.

Then, I'll go up and put the electric blanket on my bed for the first time this year. Brrrrr!

Patti, I love planning for a big dinner or party, too. I've been pouring through my cookbooks and my old family recipes for days. :-)

Sunny day here in CA. I think we might get a little rain next week. Emphasis on "little". We have not had a good rain in almost 10 months.

I marinated a flank steak to grill and will have a green salad to go with it. It's Thursday which means WW weigh in tomorrow morning. Thursdays just seem to drag on and on lol

Patti, I too love planning and cooking for the holidays. I've been going through all of my must try recipes trying to decide what new things to add this year. I always end up cooking the same things every year because it's whats asked for. I may surprise everyone this year :)

Tonight: homemade bread, homemade vegetable soup (my first ever!) and homemade pumpkin roll for dessert. Feeling very proud of myself! Patti, glad to hear you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner. I always plan ahead, which is so silly since we rarely change anything on the menu. I think I mostly work on the logistics of having so many here. Currently my number is somewhere between 18 and 28.

I had some errands to run today, then went to visit my sister Annie. Yesterday, when getting groceries, I was sweating in my long sleeved shirt. Today I was freezing in my winter coat. Windy/rainy early in day, just plain windy, damp and miserable the rest of the day.

I made a turkey burger topped w/lettuce, onion, tomato, and had a baked sweet potato.

I had some boneless skinless chicken breast marinating in lime/minced garlic/olive oil since yesterday. Baked it along with some acorn squash. It's almost done, and I'm starving!

I hate eating low carb......I am a carbohydrate addict. If I didn't have diabetes, I would probably eat nothing but carbs. I love biscuits and cookies and bread and potatoes.....argggghhhhhhhh

It was warm here (around 75) today but a little rainy. It's supposed to cool off tonight & the high tomorrow is only 60. I went to get my hair cut & colored after work. I only had half a ham sandwich for lunch, so I was starving by the time he got done. I did something unusual for me - I stopped at Whole Foods & ate at their hot bar. I'm full now & ready to home & relax a bit.

We are having grilled chicken breast, saffron rice with almonds & roasted fresh green beans...Got a late start, Molly worked over, so the Grill Master wasn't home to start the chicken breasts earlier since he was picking up Princess from work.

Thanksgiving will be weird this year, I am not cooking anything. We are going to GA to spend Tday with Sam, Molly is going to drive up to my DB's and eat with them, since she will have to work Black Friday..

Laura, there is nothing that says you can't do a turkey dinner with all the trimmings another time.

Yesterday on the way out the door of school one of the PTA moms said she put a turkey breast in the oven before she came down to the school to do Safety Patrol..she said they were having mashed taters, gravy and green bean casserole too..she said she wanted to "taste" early..lol

When she came in for this mornings Patrol..she said it was sooooo good. They only had three slices of meat left and they were going to fight over how to share it ...lol..

Oh so add grits to my dinner..

Old fixer....the letters are usually easy to figure out. DH dear husband, DS dear son, MIL mother in law, SIL son in law. Don't make it any more complicated than that. I do scratch my head sometimes, though, at some of it.

Jean, don't forget that some high carb foods are extremely beneficial in moderating blood sugar levels. There's a wealth of delicious whole grains, legumes, and nuts that are very filling and protein rich.

I am a type II diabetic who totally controls my condition with a diet full of fruits, veggies, and the foods I just mentioned. I splurge now and then, but not often. I'm never famished.

Oh I plan on having a big Christmas Dinner which I normally don't fix. We will have ham and a turkey breast with all the trimmings. I will start cooking about 3 days ahead,

Lobster at Lahaina Yacht Club! Can't wait. Been starving myself all day anticipating this dinner. Only four texts from work in two days. *sigh*
