Mo, that's how I feel about the pretty egg plate. Too pretty to cover up with real eggs. By the way, I am really sorry you are having anxiety issues about your husband's trip. Anxiety is terrible to deal with. I hope maybe you can talk yourself into some decorating, it truly helps to stay occupied. Plus being surrounded by pretty things and a festive looks helps one's mood too I believe. I know nights make anxiety far worse, and I will be thinking about you. You can join the slumber party here that Yacht and I usually do. LOL. We don't sleep at night due to pain, so our computers keep us going. Jeanne, I didn't stretch $20. LOL. Wish I had. I can never seem to get out of Dollar Tree for less than $20, that is why I changed its name to reflect that. I think this time they got me for $23. And trust me, you don't want to know my Michaels bill. LOL. Dad gave me $100 to spend and I had no problem at all doing that between the two stores yesterday. They are side by side, so I frequently refer to them as "Double Trouble". hugs, Karen

If I land anywhere on the did he/didn't he it is on the side of him being an adult child who just never grew up. I guess my thoughts are similar to Squirrel in that he lived his childhood once he became an adult. I mean how many of us think or react to things based on something that happened to us as teens and children. I know sometimes I do. Something will happen and I realize that the inner child is the one reacting not the adult. For me and I think most of us, we have people around us and our own internal monitors that allow us to realize what we are doing. I just don't think he had that. "Extreme celebrity is something none of us can even begin to imagine." The closest experience I had to this is when I traveled to China in March. Black folk are definitely not the norm and everytime me and my son went out (either alone or together) people would stare, sometimes laugh as well as trying to take our picture. If I stopped even for a minute a crowd would soon gather around me and ask questions and/or ask if they could take pictures. I must say midway through my trip there were times I would seriously think about whether I wanted to go out because of it. Many times people would ask my DS if they could take his picture and if he said yes, suddenly there would be a line a mile long of people who wanted to take his picture with him. Others would take pictures of the people taking pictures of him. In the beginning when they asked me I said yes but after awhile I began to say no because once you said yes you could be there sometimes up to 30 minutes or more taking pictures. After awhile I just felt uncomfortable and said no. That experience gave me just a small glimpse into what it must be like to be a famous celebrity. Towards the end I would sometimes think twice about going out because of it mainly because it was relentless and it did get tiring. Of course I totally understood why, we were not the norm. I guess what I'm saying is if my experience caused me to react this way, imagine living your life like that everyday. Maybe you just want to go for a walk but you can't because the minute you step outside you become an instant attraction. Just another POV.

I loved that show, and he was so handsome. The newspaper article said he left the show early because he thought it was unrealistic for three grown men to be living with their father and having to ask his advice and permission for every little thing. He's the last one of the 4 to pass away. It was a different kind of Western because it was less violet than others.

I'm sorry to say that I have read Next and thought the writing poor and the plot thin and at times so outlandish that it wasn't even fun. Like Cindy and others, I enjoyed some of his earlier work, but I don't intend to read any more of his unless he improves. I tried to read the novel he wrote before Next and threw it down in disgust, so I certainly understand why Mr. Crowley was critical of it. But, as Pat points out, we all have different tastes and there are many who enjoy his work. I'm just no longer one of them.
