Who here watches "The Blacklist"?

Not having watched the episodes when they first aired (probably I had other TV shows scheduled to record on my DVR), I'd put this series on my to-be-watched list for Netflix.

I watched the very first episode last night and I was just aghast at all the violence (and the implied violence). I know that with shows like "Breaking Bad," the "I Love Lucy" and "Perry Mason" TV days are long gone, but the show was close to heart-stopping for me. (Um, not that I was an adult, even, when those old shows first aired!)

Is the rest of the series like this? (Pls, no specifics or spoilers -- I might continue watching just to figure out how one plotline resolves itself!)

Tried to get into it but only saw a few episodes. The whole premise just seemed too far-fetched to me and I became disinterested. Lots of people like it, tho.

Love, love, love love the Blacklist. We were hooked on the very first episode. James Spader does an awesome job.

A couple of light frost nips here in Novi (15 miles NW of Detroit) over the past couple of weeks. Nothing serious yet, though...pretty amazing for Nov 1...my cannas with their deep purple foliage and even a few blooms are still standing tall in addition to lots of annuals...some zinnias are hanging in there, impatiens are on their last gasp (still sporting a few blossoms), dusty miller (plant this next year for silvery color from spring, summer and right into early winter...it even overwinters for me here...and boy, does it look great with the green/purple kale plants I picked up this fall), alyssum, marigolds (also VERY cold tolerant) and more... But I don't mind all that much the plants that have given up for the winter and made their way into my compost bags...every square foot of bed I clear down to nice rich earth makes me think of spring and the things that will be bursting forth before we can even believe it... And plus there's always seed-starting to keep my thumb green over winter!

We finally got around to watching it. We had it recorded on the DVR. What a weird way to get rid of a character. Why not have him move away or something. Why did they end it that way? It really depressed me. Clare

Like Spader so started to watch. (Loved BL) The FBI runs out to pick up the little girl and lo and behold the bad guys know all this and set up an elaborate trap on the bridge that they just knew the FBI would be taking. Then they're torturing the husband...of course. I turned it off. Too predictable. (Just a wild guess, but I bet that Spader is Elizabeth's father.)

"how come so many guys get killed assuming they're all wearing bullet proof vests.....that's never made sense to me." The vest will only protect the area it covers. If someone gets shot in the head, a bulletproof vest won't help. If someone gets shot in the thigh and the bullet pierces an artery, a bulletproof vest won't help. Add my name to the list of folks who think that Elizabeth is still alive and put into hiding for her protection. When Megan Boone is ready to return from maternity leave, Elizabeth will be shown to be alive. And, I think that will be in the Fall. I think this season will end with everyone still thinking that Elizabeth is dead.

I watched a few episodes too. Really like Jim Spader from watching him on Boston Legal, but somehow I just didn't stick with Blacklist. There is so much to watch these days.

I've watched every episode because I like Spader......I just look away during the gory stuff.

I have a hard time watching it because most of if is in the dark. I can't see what's happening. Does everything have to be in the dark? My sight is failing recently and I am constantly asking my DD what is happening? She doesn't know either.

Too many other shows have too many scenes in almost complete darkness but I think The Blacklist is the hardest to watch. I usually give up and go to my computer.

We watch every episode. Would not miss it. We both think it's one of the best shows on the networks. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Most shows with a cop style will of course have violence they are hunting down violent criminals.

Absolutely love, love, this show! There are so many twists and turns and hidden back stories that you are totally hooked!

I do! Started watching because I admire James Spader, but am hooked by the rest of the characters too. I am appalled by some of the gore, but keep right on watching! This show and Blue Bloods are my favorites and I won't answer the phone during either.

Blacklist is no worse at all than Criminal Minds. That can be horrifying/chilling as well, very much so.

We've seen Stalker which is a new show this year and we like it too. The acting could be better, though Apparently the 2 main actors are dating in real life, but there's no chemistry on-screen at all.
The reviews aren't very good, so it may not hang around.

I love The Blacklist, but sometimes, I have to look away, too. I quit watching Criminal Minds, it just turned my stomach. And when the reviewers compared Stalker to it, I knew I wasn't going to watch it.
I don't like shows when it's too dark, either.

Stalker is lightweight in terms of story lines and acting compared to Criminal MInds.

I watched the first couple of shows of Blacklist and liked it but something else was on at the same time. I know that if I tape stuff I will never watch it so I didn't bother.

Spader rocks his part in this show. I've been binge watching on Netflix since I'm a newcomer...totally addicted.

We are (slowly) watching season 1 on Netflix. While I do enjoy the show I find it totally preposterous which sometimes irritates me. Guess that's why I haven't been bingeing it.

Speaking of Criminal Minds if you watch it, are you happy with the addition of Jennifer Love Hewitt? I don't like her at all and find her acting very stilted.

Sleeperblues, I don't care for Hewitt at all on Criminal Minds...just doesn't work for me at all. Surely there are more suitable and talented choices.

J-L Hewitt doesn't add a thing to the show. When she was in the Client list, her facial expressions were so exaggerated. She comes across as being stilted, as Sleeperblues mentioned and forced. Not natural at all.

Love The Blacklist. Love Criminal Minds. Can't standing watching it now with J-L Hewitt on it. I can't stand even looking at her. It's actually very surprising how much I can't stand to watch her. Horrible casting, hopefully they will remove her from the show, ASAP.

So . . . now that the "fall finale" has been shown, was there any big reveal? Any question answered? Or simply more suspense to keep us hooked until February?

I stopped watching Criminal Minds when there was an episode that was particularly bloody and gory (maybe a family member being killed?). I know that with these cops/U.S. security-type shows, you have to expect that the envelope is being pushed further and further to get attention and ratings. I just wasn't prepared to nearly jump out of my skin during one of the scenes during the first episode of The Blacklist!
(But haven't deleted the series from my Netflix list -- yet!_

Every episode is not quite as gruesome and gory. However, the plot twists and action never stops. Its amazing!
