Did you watch The Blacklist (with James Spader)?

I watched it after The Voice--a long TV night for me. But I thought The Blacklist was good. The female star looks a lot like Kate Middleton.

Loved it. Also watched Hostages and that was good too. Too bad they're both on at 10 as well as Castle which I'll have to watch On Demand.

The dancing girls said that they had heard his daughter was in Swan Lake years ago. And he is their biggest donor. The program in his hand was from 1987 I think the date was. And it has to be on the same date every year remember him saying the 22, several times. I think Red is going to kill Tom he won't let him hurt her. I also heard in the conversation between Tom and the girl that Berlin sent their orders. Right as they were in the warehouse. This is by far the best new show on the regular networks. Jasdip I highly recommend it. Every episode has been very good. The actors are great. Crisis is looking good for a new one. I set it to record the series already. Another we absolutely love is Justified and this season has not disappointed. Not to mention how darn good looking Rayland is. I hope it stays good now that Elmore Leonard has died, hopefully the writing will keep on track. His son is involved so that should help.

I really wanted to watch it, but missed the first half hour, and then was busy tonight and couldn't see the re-broadcast either, but thanks to breenthumb's mention of watching it online, I managed to see the first half. The show seemed quite ambitious: trying to build an entire coherent futuristic world, introduce a half dozen main characters and present some history and motivations for the characters, and establish the main plot as well as two or three sub-plots, all without resorting to clumsy narration and minimizing the ham-handed exposition. Some of the characters had so little screen-time they seemed a little more like caricatures: The sinister administrator guy conspiring with the eccentric corporate billionaire; the doctor-friend keeping something so momentous secret; even the brilliant scientist guy being unable to stifle his atheistic views enough to avoid repeatedly insulting the people he is asking to fund his research. I also had some quibbles with plot points: Why have only one person on the large space station, especially when the previous astronaut supposedly flipped-out and killed himself? Why wouldn't the husband have at least some ready answer to deflect an obvious and expected fear-motivated line of questions? Why would they even make it possible to delete the video feeds on the space station? I did notice a couple of nice touches in the sequences on the space station: When the power goes out and she is on the rim of the station where there is some "gravity" due to the rotation of the station, and she climbs "up" towards the central hub and experiences less and less "gravity" until she is in free-fall at the hub. Then later when she see see the guy in the airlock, she is floating weightless holding on to a handhold and she then "sees" the guy come walking out which seems to clearly indicate he's a hallucination. All-in-all, despite the above quibbles, I think the show worked pretty well, and has a lot of promise.

I hope he comes back too. He's integral to the show. He's a hunk, and very evil. I saw her (Megan) on a talk show and her hair is now parted in the middle. Hubby saw a clip of her on Blacklist while channel surfing, and commented that something about her looks really different. He wasn't even sure that it was her. I mentioned her hair parted in the center, that's what it is,he said. What a difference, something as simple as that can do. Neither of us care for it. How's that for superficial comments. lol

"how come so many guys get killed assuming they're all wearing bullet proof vests.....that's never made sense to me." The vest will only protect the area it covers. If someone gets shot in the head, a bulletproof vest won't help. If someone gets shot in the thigh and the bullet pierces an artery, a bulletproof vest won't help. Add my name to the list of folks who think that Elizabeth is still alive and put into hiding for her protection. When Megan Boone is ready to return from maternity leave, Elizabeth will be shown to be alive. And, I think that will be in the Fall. I think this season will end with everyone still thinking that Elizabeth is dead.

I adore James Spader. Loved, loved, loved him on Boston Legal. But the previews of his new show just didn't appeal to me or to my husband at all, so we're not planning on ever watching it.

I usually don't like shows like Blacklist, but I do like James Spader so I watched it. It was great, like a novel that you just can't put down. I'll be right there next week!

Yogalady, I liked Boston Legal too; it was great! I especially liked the endings with the conversations between Spader and Shatner. Remember the one-legged lady?

Silence of the Lambs???? Not sure about that theme, but maybe I'll give Blacklist a try. Maybe.

Susan, I could never watch Silence of the Lambs! I think Pam was probably referring to a the theme of a criminal knowing a lot about an FBI agent and being rather obsessed with her. I felt the show was similar in tone to Damages.

I liked it although I think they revealed too many plot points last night. We already knew the husband would be a factor because james spaders character had mentioned him - she could have found the cache in another episode. Same thing with the burn on her hand. I'll watch it next week and then see what happens.

Where I am Castle is also on Sunday nights.

Yes, I loved it!! He plays one of the most pompous, genius, type people I have ever seen. He is great~~~glad to see he lost some weight since he was in 'The Office'~~he looks great!

We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to watching it again. It was like a mini movie very well done. Anyone else think that he might turn out to be her father? I think they are leading you in that direction.

Love James Spader! I really liked him in Boston Legal, so I was looking forward to this show. I agree with YogaLady. I will be watching this every week.

YogaLady, right how very convenient. What he just happened to be in the park that day? LOL

I just can't figure out why is planning and doing all this as it just hurts her so much! That was a really big surprise to find out the husband is a spy or agent of some sort. That was a shocker besides the shock of seeing him at the kitchen table that way. If it continues like this is it will be a very interesting show.

Nizza, I think he planned the whole thing~~~it was a set up to get rid of that bad guy. He has a 'Blacklist' of bad guys he wants to rid the world of and is going to use the girl to do it, with the help of the FBI

We didn't see it last nite, but we are sure going to put it on our list.

Man, he's put on a lot of weight, according to the previews that we've seen. Loved the way he and Shatner hung out at the end, in Boston Legal.

YogaLady, yes he did plan it all. In fact, when he was walking with the terrorist - the terrorist said he did it the way Spader wanted it done. I agree that he has a blacklist and he and the girl will take care of all of them, BUT, then what is it that he really wants at the end? I guess we will have to watch and see. Just what they want us to do - LOL

Ah James Spader, what a tasty looking morsel! LOL He was one of my heart-throb actors in the 80s.

Remember him in Pretty in Pink, Ghost, and The Secretary (a naughty, naughty movie)?

Oh but he's lost his hair!

Like Spader so started to watch. (Loved BL)
The FBI runs out to pick up the little girl and
lo and behold the bad guys know all this and
set up an elaborate trap on the bridge that they
just knew the FBI would be taking. Then they're
torturing the husband...of course. I turned it off.
Too predictable.
(Just a wild guess, but I bet that Spader is
Elizabeth's father.)

Yes, Lindakathy~~very predictable, because JS took his tracker out of his arm, and put it in the bomb push button thingie, that the terroist had. That way they could track him, thinking it was JS~~~to the bridge and kill him. It all seemed oddly predictable til you found out, JS set it all to have the terroist killed~who was on his Blacklist~~

We enjoyed it a lot. Suspenseful, exciting, and a great plot line.
We will be watching it, set for the season series.

I just remembered another old James Spader movie! White Palace, co-staring Susan Sarandon. Naughty, but tame compared to The Secretary.
