Need prayers for my niece

My niece who is 22 is going through a very hard time right now. 4 years ago her boyfriend (her true love) was killed in a car accident. For a couple of years after that is was a very scary time (she tried to kill herself a couple of times).

This past weekend her current boyfriend of 2 years died of an asthma attack.

I am so scared for her right now. Her mother says her eyes look like she wants to end her life. My niece was catonic, very cold and kept falling at the hospital where they took her boyfriend. The next few months are going to be very nerve wracking as my sister and her husband try and keep a very close watch on my niece.

Thank you all. I forgot to tell you my sister's name. When you are offering prayers, they are for Phyllis. She has been so upbeat and positive during this fight with lung cancer (for the past 3 years or so) but she's having a very hard time right now. Great news! Now we hope that healing may proceed as fully and quickly as possible, and uneventfully. And as far as you feel it appropriate/would be appreciated, tell her that a number of people across a couple of countries at least are pulling for her and sending their good wishes. Thanks for the ideas. One of the problems is that they live in a rural area and meals on wheels isn't available to them. The home health people are coming on Monday and I thinking that I am going to go over when they are there to make sure that they get all the bases covered. My mil is the kind of person that is always the first to help others but never asks for help herself. I am going to call one of the church members that lives closest and see if they can get a group together to take meals over every other day or so. My FIL is the problem and thinks everything needs to be a hot dinner. Me I could make a pasta salad and we could eat it all week long with sandwiches or grilling out. But that wouldn't be enough for them. So will have to do some thinking. Also FIL's son ( MIL and FIL married when in their 50's ) lives in town and hasn't worked for months and has been taking money from mil and fil and part of me feels that he needs to step up and help. But I want to do what I can to help. With 3 kids under 4 and one more on the way, I have enough on my plate to deal with but will muddle through. I think the most important thing is to be there when home health comes and to make sure that we cover all the bases, physical therepy for both of them, bathing, cleaning, and cooking. Thanks everyone. I was hit with this out of the blue. I had no idea. We only live about 15 miles from each other, but we don't see, or talk to each other, often. Usually when DB calls, he wants something. I am sure it was hard for him to call and tell me. I know he is hurting for her. They are strong in faith, and I know that will help. I also don't know how many others in the family have been told. IE, my parents, or my other DB, so I don't want to say anything in case they don't know. I will be telling my 2 kids, tho. I'm adding her to my prayer list. We don't need anymore suicides. May God grant her the peace she needs and her parents the wisdom they need to help her.

Oh Sheryl, that poor girl! I cannot imagine how her heart must be shattered right now. I will add her to my prayers, along with all the loved ones.

Having lived on the other side with depression I 'know the feeling of hopelessness'. I hope her family can get her into her family doctor and counseling if available. No one ever really knew what I was thinking - and neither did I. It's minute by minute when you feel that down. Especially with a second time round losing someone you love.

I pray for your niece, and for the strength of family to stay close. If she lives with family, without any joking, is it possible to suggest that tylenol and medications be put in a safe place. If your niece is on any medication I hope her parents can check on that too in some way.

I feel for your niece. May God Bless her and keep her safe. May God Bless her to have the courage to talk about this and keep putting one foot infront of the other.

I can't imagine going through such sadness twice! Yes, I second the hope that she will find some good counseling to help her through. I'll keep her in my prayers.

That is so sad - how devastating for her to go through at such a young age - I certainly hope that the love of family and friends will give her the strength to get through this ordeal.

In that she's 22,I don't know if this can be done, but maybe her parents should talk with her physician about her mental state. There may be something that would be available for asssisting her.
