Do any of you use Google calendar

When my Yahoo calendar quit working, I started using the Google one and was reasonably pleased. However, the last while it is erasing, automatically, all the previous entries up to date. The future ones are still there. For example, this morning, even yesterdays are gone. Is this in the settings or is this the way it always is?

I use the calendar on AOL mail. It is much better and easier, than others and can send email notifications if you want,
And i can access it from my laptop, notebook and phone.

thanks. I tried to sign up for it but my Canadian postal code has 6 digits and it will only take 5, so is not letting me.

I actually believe in the "planting during a new moon" methodology. Ive done many experiments and found it to be mildly beneficial. However less so with peppers specifically. On the other hand, I still plant seeds every weekend because I like the constant flood of plants entering the garden. I believe there is a "science" to the new moon sowing theory and my take on it is this: When a new plant is germinated, the primary thrust of power and energy to grow is contained in the seed, after the first few days the plant transitions to use energy from external sources, air, water, light and soil. Approximately 2 weeks after new moon is when the full moon hits. Now, If you are planting outside, this is where you get the benefit. the freshly sprouted seedling is now just releasing it's first true leaves right at the point when the full moon is reflecting a lot of additional light. I believe this has the potential to give the plant some extra light right at the point where it's growth variables are being determined. While the benefit is small, I find it to be an interesting phenomena.

FANTASTIC tips, Joann! (Loved the sock item--that's exactly the kind of thing that gets shoved to the corner of your mind and gets remembered only when you're standing in that school auditorium/gym the next year!) The calendar function on my Mac has really helped me keep track of bill-paying, appointments, due dates for library books (with spaces for noting a new title I need to get when I go back to the library) and so many other daily-life tasks. And you don't need an "electronic calculator," as has been noted (oops, pun not intended!). IMHO, what you DON'T want to do is have a series of reminders. How many lists on little pieces of paper do you have now? Unless you really have a severe memory problem, it's a time waster to have one calendar you go to for the basics but one that forces you to look at ANOTHER piece of paper or computer site to get all the details. A second or third day planner or notebook is just one more thing you can misplace. One alternative to a computer calendar and a paper notepad in your pocket is your cellphone. Even the basic cheapie phone that I have (it's not a smartphone) has a reminder alarm component. You can set a series of alarm clock settings for tasks, like "dr. appt" at 11 a.m. and "buy bananas" and prioritize them as well. I've used the phone to remind me of the next drug-dosage times, very handy when you have a cold and want to get some sleep but then wake up wondering how long it's been since you took your last dose of Nyquil!

My garage door is right outside the kitchen doorway and it's metal. So my calendar hangs from a magnetic hook there. It's not as convenient as it used to be but I'm getting used to it. I stick things inside my cabinets with tape all the time, too. Mostly frequently used recipes and kid's lunch id numbers and things. But I have ADD and definitely need my calendar out and in my face! happyladi, which country store do you get your calendar from? Is it one of those dishtowel ones from The Vermont Country Store? Or do you have something that can be written on? Do you have a link or a picture? Inquiring minds want to know!:) Thanks! Robin

I have used Google Calendar for a few years now, I am a Logistics manager and psycho organizational person to say the least LOL. I use it on my desktop, laptop, netbook, tablets and andriod phone. I also use Jorte Calendar app on my phone which syncs up flawlessly to Google Cal, visually I like Jorte on my phone better. Google is sooo much better universally because everyone has it and here at work we can share work calendars and any or no personal events too. Not to mention places like my gym maintain Google Calendars and update automatically to mine (what I allow), I also get auto downloads of concerts, etc...from social event sources.

You must have a setting set to erase events after they happen, either after you receive a notification in email or txt clearing out the event. I have my calendars back atleast 3 years intact and get my notifications via txt to my phone & tablets and email everywhere else. I do not clear out an event thou, maybe that is what is happening??? ~ liz

I am thinking like liz, it's a setting you have. I like Google so far. Especially since it'll sync to my phone. Or my son's phone. I sneak things on his and then he sees them.

Well, it looks like I may have got it but I don't know what I did. I did change a couple of the settings. Tthanks everyone. if I have more problems I will let you know.

I use Google calendar on my tablet. On desktop computer, I use Outlook. On laptop, I don't have a calendar, but plan on loading Outlook.

I rarely use a computer calendar except for the date that is part of the operating system and shows in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Years ago when I was still working, I began wearing Casio Data Bank watches and these have an excellent date function showing in the display. Its always with me; its handy and there is no need for extra equipment; Its great for airline travel.
