Thanks everyone. She lives with my brother and family, yes there is someone with me. She is in surgery now.

Oh dear, this isn't good. I hope they can put her back together so she can walk again. So sorry for her and the whole family. Let us know how it all goes.

tami it won't be easy esp when they start pt, but hang in there and encourage her as much as you can...my mother beat the odds (at 82) and after 6 weeks was home and I was able to leave for my home..she ended up being able to drive and resumed her water classes.

Just got home so I'm glad to get the good news along with the bad. Hoping your mom has a speedy and full recovery from the surgery. Listening to the doctor and doing the PT will be very important.

The best medicine is love, laughter and family - if she can have visitors, get her family in to see her as often as possible. We old folks live to see our kids and grandkids!

Tami, prayers for an easy recuperation and successful completion of physical therapy for your mom. As someone said above, seeing friends and family always helps. Take care of yourself, also.

Today started good even tho mom wouldn't cooperate. We are thinking possible stroke. BP went very low after lunch. Left corner of her mouth drew in. Couldn't hold her head up eyes going all different directions. Very little urine output. In fact still didn't have enough for a lab sample at 8pm. Dr ordered CT scan which came back negative. At a good lunch for her. Hoping it's just the meds but don't know. Thanks everyone for all the good wishes.

thank you for reposting...don't lose heart! just be gentle and firm...it has to be scarey to be in pain and asked to move or get up...I know I balked everytime dh walked me down the hall after my hyst! continued good thoughts and prayers!

I seen more hip fractures turn elder people wonky and it's worrisome for everybody. Your mom sounds like a trooper though, she'll get through this . Hope she is able to heal completely and without much pain.
