My DGD Could Use Some Prayers Please

Rachel is 13 now. Here is an explanation of what she is having done.

Thanks for sending up some prayers for her.

Rachel is having a procedure today called a Catheter Ablation to correct an extra impulse signal to her heart. She should be just fine as we caught it early, but because she is athletic, when her heart rate goes up during sporting activities, if this extra impulse kicks it, it could tell her heart to beat twice as fast. The procedure lasts 3-4 hours and recovery time is about the same, so we will be at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center from about 10-8. Please pray for everything to go according to plan during this procedure and for Rachel to have a quick and pain free recovery.

I'll cross my fingers and toes that the surgery goes off without a hitch! I'd cross my eyes too, but that hurts -
I'm sure everyone will join in to pray for her speedy recovery, keep us posted on her progress.

Thank you everyone - had a family Christmas party last night at my nieces house and my 7 year old granddaughter was there. I held her so close and was so thankful to God that I could. She was so full of life and so excited about new dance moves she was learning and a new song she is learning. I just 'drank' it all in. So many many parents and grandparents will never see their 6 or 7 years old ever do that. There are times when I say 'why God??' but in the end I know he has his plan and one day it will all be made clear. What a terrible accident! Her neck was broken? All this glass? She's lucky to be *alive*! So glad they are able to save her sight. Was she wearing a seatbelt? (Abdominal bruising?)

She will certainly be in my prayers. I am so sorry - 13
is way too young to have to deal with this. Kids should
be able to be care-free. But, not the case, is it?

Thank you everyone for your prayers and good thoughts. My daughter just called (they live in California) and Rachel is in recovery now, and all went well.
I'm waiting on an update from my oldest daughter on Nathan's MRS that he had done on Monday out there at UCLA. First report wasn't from the doctor, but it sounded favorable. Just waiting for the Dr.'s more in depth explanation. I'll post that when I hear.

I'm so happy to hear that Rachel did well with the procedure. I hope she continues to improve. I read Nathan's Caringbridge page regularly and hope he gets good news also.

I'm waiting for DD to do the update on Nathan's CarePage, then I'll post the update here. He was diagnosed a year ago today.
