Sweet little baby M could use some KT Prayers pic

As some of you know, we have watched a little girl, "Baby Cakes", since she was just a wee one. She now has a baby sister, Baby M was born the 15th of Oct. During an ultrasound they found a problem with one of her kidneys, but it didn't get any worse with the following checks, so they decided to wait and see how it did after she was born.

Today they had more testing done, and she only has 4% of one kidney being used! So tomorrow (Friday) morning at 8:00 she is having surgery to see what can be done. I don't know all the detail as this all came to be rather quickly.

I just know that she could sure use some KT prayers when she goes into surgery. Also some prayers for strenghth for her mom & dad.

We have been watching her once a week since she was just a couple weeks old also. Here is a pic of her and papa playing with the chime.

First is the big labeled family photo. Citrus: there's seedling lemon, tangelo, pummelo, yuzu, along with an unlabeled sudachi. There's also a larger grafted yuzu and a grafted calamondin. As for non-citrus, there's three nightshades (tamarillo, naranjilla and coconas), two pots of seedling guavas, and a rather spindly ice cream bean seedling. The black pot is tamarillo sprouts, which I need to thin out. To me, the only notable thing here is how different papeda-type citrus look from other citrus when young - smaller, slower in growth, smaller leaves, but very lush, small (not visible in this pic) spines, but more of 'em than other citrus. Thank you everyone - had a family Christmas party last night at my nieces house and my 7 year old granddaughter was there. I held her so close and was so thankful to God that I could. She was so full of life and so excited about new dance moves she was learning and a new song she is learning. I just 'drank' it all in. So many many parents and grandparents will never see their 6 or 7 years old ever do that. There are times when I say 'why God??' but in the end I know he has his plan and one day it will all be made clear. Again my prayers are directed to Connecticut - may they feel God's comfort during this time of sorrow ..... Lynne

I have a friend that welcomed baby #4 that way too. I also know someone who had 3 kids already. Four days before her third child was to begin kindergaten she found out she was pregnant with #4. During the kindergaten open house other moms kept saying to her "It must be great having them ALL in school now!" She could'nt say a word. What is it with #4? God must really like that number. You seem to be in good spirits. Babies are not bad things. God must think that your a good mommy to give you another.

PP offered some great tips! Your girls are going to love the room. I had a couple suggestions I haven't seen mentioned yet. For wall art: I love etsy.com for handmade art or budget-friendly photos. I have some great prints for my 2 girls' rooms. They also have vinyl adhesive quotes or you can order your girls' names. They can be pricey, so I ended just hand painting a two-tone pink cherry blossom tree. Not as fancy as this, but decent enough considering it only cost me a few quarts of paint. This decal from easy is $86. For your windows: I agree with the PP worried about window safety. With those windows, I would invest in plantation shutters (too heavy for a 2 or 3 year old to unlock and swing open) or buy a metal window gate to ensure your kids can't open the window. Then you can buy some pretty sheers to soften the look of plantation shutters. I got some from Pottery Barn Kids that are embroidered with pink and green butterflies to cover my daughter's shutters. It offers a light whimsical look. They're both sleeping now so I can't take photos. I can't copy the image here, but I see one on eBay now with lavender butterflies for $35 per 84" panel. Post photos when you finish the playroom!

I will include Baby M in my prayers. There is nothing sadder than a sick baby. I will also remember her family in my prayers. Please keep us posted on her progress.

I feel so bad for the baby and all of you, her family. It would never be good to hear that news, but it hits especially hard this time of year. Many, many prayers for good news after the surgery. Poor little baby girl having to go through surgery so young. (((Sandy)))
