The Kitchen Table

Could use a few small prayers

My " adopted" daughter is in labor as I type. Her water broke at 8 this morning. She is high risk and at 34 weeks. Labor is going well, dialated to 4 cm and epidural is in place. Little Gaberiel (I'm not sure I'm spelling that right!) should be here by morning! The baby shower is on Sat. so a little boy is just a "little" bit early! The only thing they are concerned with is his lungs. Otherwise, the dr's are not worried. And as he is determined to make his appearance, I am hoping that the dr's are wrong and he is not early! If you would please send some good thoughts his way we would appreciate it.

Hopefully the chemo will finish the cancer off. I hope her hubby's family is supportive so she gets attention from someone close. So hard on the little ones who don't understand. It may be good that Michelle didn't talk about it when you were together, she may not be letting it get to her too much. That could help her recovery. Drs have come a long way in treating these things. Hugs & prayers for all of you! Jan

Could Use Some Good Thoughts and Prayers

Sending good thoughts and hopes for a good outcome ... and offering prayers on Bill's behalf ... and for confidence and peace of mind for all of you in the midst of it all. (((((Bill, Terri and the whole family))))) I'm pleased that you've re-established some connections with acquaintances/friends from the past, also. What a small world it sometimes turns out to be - and I've sometimes said that it could well be that often we won't find out unless we ask a question or two, or make a couple of comments, more than one might regularly expect to do. Sometimes it's the second mile that produces the payoff. ole joyful

So sorry things have gotten worse. I can't imagine all the heartache. She has got to get away before he destroys her and the kids! I hope she has the strength to do it. Are the kids in emergency foster care?? I hate to ask but-"if she messes up one more time"-is that going back to Lee or is it drinking or drugs-gosh I hope not! so glad you and Brian are on the same page regarding the possibility of the kids coming to you. You will find a way to take them in and provide them the safety they so desparately need! Hope the kids get some counseling too.

Today started good even tho mom wouldn't cooperate. We are thinking possible stroke. BP went very low after lunch. Left corner of her mouth drew in. Couldn't hold her head up eyes going all different directions. Very little urine output. In fact still didn't have enough for a lab sample at 8pm. Dr ordered CT scan which came back negative. At a good lunch for her. Hoping it's just the meds but don't know. Thanks everyone for all the good wishes.
