Thanks for telling us Micki! Hope it is just a small stroke & she will come back fast. Friend had stroke couple of days after my dad & she is back to normal. My dad is doing well. Those with lots of support do well as they get the help & encouragement they need. Sylvia has a wonderful family to help her get through it. Will put her & her medical team & family in my prayers & little Eddie that he can get in safe home & that James tour will be in fairly safe area over there. Thank you, James for serving our country! Since James has custody he should have some say in where Eddie goes I would think. Hugs & prayers, Jan

I wrote this message yesterday and I forgot to press send it!! I think is understandable with all this things going on around me and the shooting at Ft. Hood. As I write this I turned on the TV on CNN and they are talking about a shooting at an office in Orlando !! 8 people shot and the shooter is on the loose. When all this madness will stop? Thanks everyone for encouragement. I really need it. I am so stressed out about my sister situation, my surgery and when I came home tonight I heard about Ft Hood shooting, Lucy's scare and all those poor soldiers who's life was cut short. I do not want any more stress and worries for a while !!! Lucy, my sister is 6 years younger than me and she is the youngest of the 4 of us (3 sisters and one brother). I'll let you know how things are progressing. Pat

Thanks for the ideas. One of the problems is that they live in a rural area and meals on wheels isn't available to them. The home health people are coming on Monday and I thinking that I am going to go over when they are there to make sure that they get all the bases covered. My mil is the kind of person that is always the first to help others but never asks for help herself. I am going to call one of the church members that lives closest and see if they can get a group together to take meals over every other day or so. My FIL is the problem and thinks everything needs to be a hot dinner. Me I could make a pasta salad and we could eat it all week long with sandwiches or grilling out. But that wouldn't be enough for them. So will have to do some thinking. Also FIL's son ( MIL and FIL married when in their 50's ) lives in town and hasn't worked for months and has been taking money from mil and fil and part of me feels that he needs to step up and help. But I want to do what I can to help. With 3 kids under 4 and one more on the way, I have enough on my plate to deal with but will muddle through. I think the most important thing is to be there when home health comes and to make sure that we cover all the bases, physical therepy for both of them, bathing, cleaning, and cooking. Otherwise I know that my mil won't ask for help, but I am not afraid to ask for help for her. Stacie girlsingardens

First, Jewels,...yes, it could have been much worse...she might have had a head trauma or broken neck...there is always something to be thankful for. But as a grandmother of a die hard soccer granddaughter, I know how important the game is to them and yes, soccer is a very aggressive sport. I would at least discuss this with the coach or AD and see what might be happening between the girls...and if your dd is the only one who is getting excessive abuse from her teammate. If I remember correctly, your dd has a scholarship to play college soccer and I hope this does not ruin her chances for that. My grandson also had a good chance for playing college soccer as well, but due to knee accidents, he was not able to do so and it broke his heart. He is the college soccer team's manager, but that is not like the thrill of playing. Good luck to your dd!
