Well it has been a tough couple of weeks. Two months ago my fil had roter cuff surgery and they had a lot problems and had to grind down the bone quite a bit. They Doctor that they went to does professional athletes and he said that he has never seen as much damage. To add to this he has arthritis and also parkinson's diesease. So my mil has to help him bathe, dress, get in and out of bed and just about every task.

Well 2 days ago she had a free day and was enjoying playing outside mowing and getting some plants in to the ground. She came around the side of the car and slipped on some loose gravel. She hit the side of her head on the bumper, cutting open her eye and it is swelled completely shut. They took x-rays and the found a clean break in one bone, then got a call from the radiologist and found that the other bone was broken too. She went down to a specialist and they had to do surgery this afternoon and put some pins and a pate in her arm. So for the next 2 months she can't lift anything heavier than a pound.

They have home health coming out and helping starting Monday. FIL has to go to physical therapy 3 times a week and now neither can really drive safely. So if you have a chance to say a prayer for them that would be great.

So I was wondering if anyone has some ideas of meals that I can make and take over for them to eat. They are meat and potato kind of people but with her not able to lift and his problems he won't be much help. I would appreciate any ideas that anyone might have. DH is going to go over once a week to mow the yard and I will go along and help with all her gardens. I feel so bad, during the surgery they just numbed the right side and all through the surgery all that she was worried about was that the doctors were missing out on dinner and kept freting about DH, FIL and DBIL and that they were having to wait for her.

I am going to call one of their neighbors and see if she can get some of the other neighbors to help out with making some dinners and helping out with other things. Luckily we are only 45 minutes away but with my 3 monkeys and being pregnant I have a hard enough time keeping up with my own house.
