Could use prayers and thoughts for my dog

My dog Lady is not eating and she is very mopey she has been this way for a couple days.I have a vet appointment

for 2:20 this afternoon so prayers and thoughts would be welcome.

Thank you everyone - had a family Christmas party last night at my nieces house and my 7 year old granddaughter was there. I held her so close and was so thankful to God that I could. She was so full of life and so excited about new dance moves she was learning and a new song she is learning. I just 'drank' it all in. So many many parents and grandparents will never see their 6 or 7 years old ever do that. There are times when I say 'why God??' but in the end I know he has his plan and one day it will all be made clear. Again my prayers are directed to Connecticut - may they feel God's comfort during this time of sorrow ..... Lynne

Update added: We went down and saw my new nephew Aiden. What a little cutie. He is in the nursery full time and has an IV in his poor little head running all the time. This evening though they finally got to put him into his mama's room so that is good news. They left the port in his head just in case they need to use it again. The funny thing is that he looks just like Hayden, the two can be twins. I feel for my sil, her mom is totally mean and driving her nuts and is no help at all. She was going to stay for a month to help out, and with the babies problems she will need the extra help but out of the blue said good bye last night and no one has seen her since. My sil overcompensates by saying that she will just figure it out on her own. She hasn't been around babies and only has 2 weeks maternity leave, 2 days gone already. I hope to go down on Sunday when they get home and snuggle that baby. I will post a pic in a new post when DH gets the pics downloaded. Stacie

I'm sorry you are having to take the brunt of these troubles, and I agree that you are a very good daughter. Perhaps you can write out a list of questions for your brother to ask the doctor? Or maybe put in a call yourself to the doctor's office soon after her appointment so you too can hear what the doctor had to say. In my situation which is not nearly as difficult as yours, my sister has to make all the visits with my mom because she is the only one of us who lives in the same city. She is lucky to have a job with flexible hours that makes this possible. It really bothers me when I hear about people struggling to keep their jobs while attending to medical situations with either themselves or their families. Good will shown by employers goes a long way. I wish you and your mom well.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. She may get out of the Critical Care Unit, and on to a regular floor, if they can find a room for her. They're bringing in a infectious disease doctor too, but the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. She's on Leviquin (sp) which is one of the most powerful one out there (I think). Also, checking why her immune system is so low. This makes about the 3rd time this winter with pneumonia, for her. She never takes care of herself when shes sick, and lets it go to long. Long story, but she has her 2 grown sons living with her and her husband in a 1 bedroom, (plus a sm. computer room) apt. The oldest is to have hip replacement tomorrow around 1:00. He's been on steroids for a long time, and broke his hip jumping off a pickup at work. Sorry, getting off the topic here. Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are so appreciated. Hope the vet can help. Tell us more about Lady. How old is she? What breed of dog? Have you had her since she was a pup? Has she been sick before?

I just got back from the vets and she has a really high fever. And her white blood cell count is up. she has to stay at the vets for three days with iv's of fluids and antibiotics.that's all i know for now.

A little info on Lady she is 8 years old she's part shih tzu,lhasa apso,poodle mix. She's all black except for a white patch on her chest.

Oh, I hope they're able to figure out why she's got a fever and that they're able to whip it and that she's back home and healthy really soon, Sandra. I'm glad they kept her, though, because enforced rest is a good thing when you're that ill.
