Do You Have Plans For The Week?

Yesterday was babysitting Alyssa and also canning applesauce, all seven quarts sealed. Today is grocery shopping with Amber and Alyssa. Wed. I will get a perm and probably see all my girls. Thursday we will go to the barn sale and on Friday baby sitting Alyssa again. Saturday I will be fixing food for our church dinner and Sunday is church and the dinner afterward. Sometime during that time I also hope to get more apple sauce canned. Do you have anything planned for the rest of your week?

Good morning! Tomorrow, I am having a play date with a new friend. We met online at a quilting forum, and she has new and wonderful quilting/embroidery toys. I am going to her house to play with her toys, so I can decide what new toys DH can buy me!

I've been trying to get my friend's income tax return returned to her for signing, then to drop off at the tax office, to save postage, but rearrangements regarding her daughter's arrival from the west coast interfered ... and I'd done it wrongly, so had to do it over today. I have two to do for another friend ... and my own to do, as well ... so I'll be busy. I think that my last year's return isn't in the place that it's supposed to be ... so expect to need to go digging for it. I arranged affairs to pay about 9% last year, but suspect that it'll be some higher, this year. Wish me good skill in my calculations, folks, please! Better than for my friend: I'd neglected to add senior's low-income supplement, which caused slight reduction in some credits, but isn't taxed itself. ole joyful

Sure, love to see your front door. I think if I had won it big in the lottery and could remodel everything without a budget I might enjoy doing all this work, but I find all these decisions stress me out. I have never spent this much money and its scarey. My husband is color blind so his input is useless and he rarely cares, his comment is it looked fine before we painted, the pool looked fine before the remodel, the white kitchen cabinets were fine and the appliances worked...etc. We moved to FL from NC. Things were much cheaper there and the house was decorated. It took me almost 4 years to get it right but it was done and I could put my feet up and enjoy the finished outcome. Its overwhelming to start all over again and pick things out. I cheated, I have been repainting the same colors I had in my old house. We bought this house because my husband like the size of the garage...closets and functionality where not his concern. The property taxes in FL are screwy...your taxes are based on the sales price, not a neighborhood value. So everyone has a different tax base. The longer you own your home or the less expensive the house, the cheaper your taxes are. So my neighbor who bought 10 years ago pays about $9000 less in taxes than I will!!! With the inflated market value my husband wanted to purchase a cheaper house (realtively speaking) and fix it up then buy a more expensive home that might have been already fixed up. Part of the deal was I could redo all these things. We remodeled the whole kitchen, cabinets, appliances, & floor. We salvaged the granite counter tops, though I wish I didnt, I dont like the color....again, I couldnt justify spending the money. After the pool, we have three more things to do....as I wrote this I had one, then two then three. We have one more bath to redo, add cabinetry to the bonus room and finish adding plantation shutters to the windows I didnt do the first go around. Tonight I was pulling weeds and noticed one of my expensive palms we had put in last summer is dying at the top. God I hope it is only a lack of water, but I am not sure. We have a sprinkler system, but my husband thinks it doesnt get much water because he didnt want the sprinklers to hit the house....I am so afriad it has a disease, the new growth is what is dying:( The saga never ends....but on a happier note, they started plotting out the waterfall. He said it wont look good until Wednesday or Thursday. Now I need the electrican to call back to get power to the thing:)

Woring, working and more working. And missing my baby boy (he's no baby. he's almost 14. But he's MY baby) loads and loads. He's hanging out with his dad for awhile. I am, however, loving not cleaning constantly. Or the constant cooking and eating that accompanies a teenage boy. I'm almost rested. I may actually cook something tonight. Something special that he'd never eat. Just so I won't have to hear, why'd you make that? EW. or whatever else he'd say. Kids! I've been swimming a couple of times. Went up and down the hilll so many times, my ankle got HUGE. Went to a work party with my huge-O ankle. Got my ankle diagnosed. It's arthritis (exceedingly mild) and a not very mild at all, tendonitis. I've been babying my ankle so much, it's weak as a kitten. I couldn't even stand on one foot without wobbling so much. I have been doing PT like crazy! I can stand on one foot now, but I have to move onto stand on one foot with my eyes closed. During evaluation I got to feel like I was at ballet plenty. Loads of bars with feet turned in, turned out, and loads of plie. Ok, maybe I just bent my knees some. May as well have been plie! Felt deep then. Getting better though. And I could probably dance swan lake with all the practicing. :)

One more week and a day of FREEDOM!

Friend and I talked about going to Little Rock tomorrow, do a little shopping (I need to find something to wear to a baby shower on Sunday), eat lunch with our kids and come home. Then I remembered that my DGDs both have dental appointments tomorrow and Twinkie still isn't doing too well. He got an epidural in his back last week for the pain and so far it hasn't helped. So, gonna stay home and look for something here in town to wear. Found out more than you ever wanted to know, didn't ya!? LOL I understand about the changing of jobs, Kath. After a certain point it doesn't make sense to change jobs and basically have to start all over with seniority, etc. Esp. when you've got kids to feed and educate, etc.

Sounds like you all have enjoyable weeks planned! We do as well. There's the work week to get through , of course.... Tonight we are going to our camp to do a little more prep for the upcoming bad season (winter). Tomorrow evening, we will meet with Gary's darts team to practice before the season starts the following week. Not sure about Thursday, but Friday night we will probably head back to camp. We are rebuilding an old camper there, and changing it into a new kitchen and storage room. We ripped out the entire existing kitchen/dining area, and are putting in new windows, door, pine tongue and groove walls, and will add a new apartment size propane range and cupboards later (maybe not til spring). Then on either Saturday or Sunday, we will take the ski lift up (at a local ski hill) to view the fall colors! Hopefully they will be fantastic by then. This is something we look to doing every year!

Sue, Im too tired after reading your post to much of anything. How in the world do you have so much energy??? I am meeting my daughter in Leesburg Va to do a little shopping and Im sure have lunch. Tomorrow is the dreaded breast biopsy and if I am feeling ok I have a support group meeting tomorrow evening. That is really all I have planned. Have a good week.

Applying for more jobs is my main thing this week.

I did apply for unemployment, and found out my former employer had my SS# off by one number, so yesterday, I had to fax some papers, but hopefully that is straightened out now, and by next week I should be getting my unemployment.

I'm contemplating painting my bathroom...but can't decide on a color. It's a very small bathroom, the shower curtain is not one I want to change and it's a deep eggplant purple. I don't want the room to look too "girlie".

I want to go to Manitou to get things for my sisters chemo care package.

Also want to get a website for my photographs up and running. Maybe I can sell some.

So many people with so many plans!

Unusually, we have absolutely nothing planned this week--other than DH having a check-up with his dermatologist Thurs. afternoon.

Doesn't mean I won't be busy--am working on finishing up the base to the radiator cover we made DD a bit ago. We'll no doubt head out for at least lunch, maybe a nice ride one day this week. Some neighbors have been talking about getting together one day to chat. But no specific plans for any of those things. With this wonderful weather we've been having, though, I'm sure it will be a lovely week, no matter what comes along

Today is my oil painting class. Finally conquered that fear and loving it! Thursday DH has Cataract surgery, so I'll be tending to my patient for a day or two. I also visit with my FIL everyday at the memory care facility he resides. I've become attached to many of the residents and enjoy my daily visits with them. I unofficially work the lunch shift :)
