Do you really have to wait 2 weeks?????

I've learned so much from this forum! I apologize in advance if this has already been answered, but I don't remember this in all the reading I've done here.

Question - do you really have to wait 1-2 weeks after the chemicals are put in to start swimming? Our pebble finish (Gemstone sandstone finish) was applied on Saturday. They're acid washing today and then we're finally filling!! PB told us the start up chemicals would be put in sometime in the next week, then we need to wait a week or two before we can start swimming. We're getting a lot of 90 deg days already and I really think we need to christen that pool on Father's Day weekend. Needless to say, we are very anxious to start swimming. Any good reason to wait? Thanks!
