There's been a flu virus going through the schools up here, too. Our son is home schooled, so at least we can dodge that germ pool, and so far the kids haven't brought anything creative home from Sunday school or our daughter's preschool (except for one case of the sniffles). I had a world-class sinus infection last week, just a lulu, and my husband has been a hand-washing, "Airborne" drinking, vitamin-taking maniac trying to avoid my fate. So far, he hasn't gotten it. ("Airborne" is some sort of cold-preventative fizzy tablet drink, full of vitamins etc. He bought it for me during my sinus problem, but I couldn't stand the taste of it, so he's been using it.) We've been in the 40s/50s this week, after a brief cold snap a couple weeks ago, and I wish everything would FREEZE and STAY FROZEN for a while. I'm having all sorts of trouble with my sinuses, mostly mold related. All that yuck stirred up by the two floods is just a-stewing all around us. I would LOVE a good, long, cold winter at this point. (Okay, enough whinging. Back to my usual programming.) The plus side of this warm weather: the ground isn't even close to frozen, so I was able to get some lovely partially composted leaves and stable waste from my friend Becky to spread on my little lasagna bed. I can go back and get more next week. Hooray! That wonderful future soil should make for some happy daylily seedlings. And, Becky has offered me some garden space for daylilies! They have HUGE yard, mostly grass. Oh, so exciting - and she says she wants to learn about daylilies, so I can pass the addiction - er, INTEREST, yeah that sounds better - along while I take up some of her yard space in the spring. I can't remember all that html code stuff so I just keep a copy of what I pasted above (WITH the , which are what makes the computer recognize it as a link) on a Word document and when I want to imbed a link I copy it and replace the URL and the descriptions with whatever I want. That's the brain-dead way to do it for the Intellectually Challenged! But I use copy/paste links all the time since it's quicker! And with the links you did in your post above, if I highlight them, then right click on them, I can click either open or open in a new window without actually copying and pasting them into anything. I don't know for sure if you can do that with all browsers--I use Safari. The clothespin idea you linked above is kind of cute, but that seems like it would be even more expensive than most of the "real" tags you can buy, and I don't see how you could reuse them since you're "permanently" writing on them--unless you use them for the same thing every year. Never mind - figured it out - I left the clips on to see if it would turn on automatically and it did - not sure what we were doing wrong before but it works now so we are all set.

Ok, so our pool company still hasn't "received" our Colorlogic 4 LED lights (which they are charging $1250 each!), so I am thinking, since most retailers are selling them from between $500-$600 with 2 day shipping, I could order them myself and just install them. Any hints on how this is done? I suspect I would need to: 1) Turn the power off to the pool/lights 2) Go to the junction where the lights are connected (there are 2 of them, one for one light, one for the other) 3) Disconnect the light there 4) Go into the pool, unscrew the light 5) Attach a wire snake to the end of the light I just disconnected (maybe not necessary, but probably easier) 6) Pool the light out through the pool 7) Attach new light to snake 8) Pool light through 9) reconnect Make sure everything is connected Turn light back on Is there anything I am missing? Is this something a home owner can/should do? I am not sure I can go all summer without pool lights and I can't wait for my pool company to "receive" these very expensive replacement lights...(well, it will save me $1200 + labor if I do it myself). Am I being a moron? Am I going to electrocute my family when I turn them on (well, I wouldn't turn them on with them in the pool, obviously).
