Monday had an army of men in the house doing the install for the new big AC unit outside and in the attic. Someone accidentally dropped a brick in the attic which came through the ceiling in the hall and luckily did not hit anyone or anything.( no idea why the brick was in the attic) Today the ceiling repair people were here working on that.
So I have not been doing much of anything except trying to stay out of the way. But I have to say it sure is nice to be cool in here!

!5 of us lunched at wonderful Thai restaurant, Monday. We eat out or have potluck, the 2nd Monday of each month. I'm in charge of the planning, etc.

Water Zumba, today. Really worked my shoulder. Needed it.

In for the day now, it's 101 on my deck, which gets the afternoon sun.

Mowing, mowing, mowing. The weather was too cold, then too hot, then too wet, and all that time the grass kept growing. My lawnmower and I have a lot of ground to cover. Fortunately, I mowed the last of the horribly overgrown grass last week. Now I just have to keep up with everything. It gets tiring, but it's good exercise.

Had driveway chiped and sealed yesterday--higher than expected. Now needs the heat to seal it better. DH had his petscan to check the cancer--will get the results next week. Hope it is going under remission again. Expecting friends this week end so DD will do most of the work as it is son in law's relatives. We do know them and am looking forward to visiting. Baby is sick again with virus. Poor little thing seems to catch everything.
Garden just beginning to come up--finally!! Corn about an inch high. I think we lost our potatoes--too much rain. Our ground cherries look good.

Weeding, weeding and more weeding!! Things are beginning to look good. Have 4 grandkids here for 4 days. Love having them but boy is ole grandma tired..

Not much on Monday. Today was spent at my doctor's office, tomorrow to the hospital for more bloodwork to check thyroid functions, Thursday back to doctor for nurse to check me, as they gave me a TB shot to rule that out. I've been losing weight....lost 10 pounds and for little ole me, that is way toooooo much, so we have to get to the bottom of what is wrong with me. Have to call and make an appointment with a urologist to check out bladder, urethers, etc. This getting old is NOT fun, but it does beat the alternative.

Last Saturday I started the day at a photo class followed by eight hours at the Starr Ranch Sanctuary where the ever popular Barn Owl cam is that many people here at the KT and around the world, follow with great interest. I was supposed to go on a Grunion run Sat. evening but simply ran out of time as the ranch and the beach were about 25 miles apart and I didn't leave the ranch until 10:30pm.

Doctor appointment yesterday morning, followed by client work, followed by a nighttime shoot and dinner with my Monday night photo class.

Today (and every Tuesday morning until late August) I was at Huntington Beach monitoring endangered birds in a 12 acre sanctuary. Got home at noon and started in on more client work which I just finished (at least for today) at 7:30pm.

Sunday we moved everything including the carpet, from my two teenagers rooms, Monday the carpet layers did their rooms. That afternoon we put it all back and took out our stuff from the master bedroom (and ripped out the carpet again) Tues day the carpet layers finished the master plus the walk-in closet and the hallway. Today I'm still moving that all back in. Getting ready to mow the farm with my dd's help. Also, Getting ready for the guy to install a fireplace and flat screen tv on Thursday. Hope its not to hot outside because the french doors are going to be wide open while the contractor brings in all the wood etc. We get to do all the putty and stone work when he is done attaching the drywall. Bleck to that! - The propane guys are coming out Thursday to dig a trench for the gas line. So I'm inclined to think I'm overwhelmed.
Friday, our family will travel about 80 miles to watch my dd's first short film at the University of Nebraska's, state of the Art digital film center. She is super excited to be doing this with 4 other students and I'm looking forward to getting out of this Chaos! that's about it!

Our daughter came down for an overnight with her 3 and 6 year old boys. We always have a good time with them. She also picked up a used 18 inch bike for the 6 year old at a good price when she was here. DH took the training wheels off so that he will learn how to ride it. His dad will have to get him going on it at home.

Now I am washing all the sheets again because our son and his wife are coming to spend Father's Day with us. Musical beds here.

Watching the grass grow. Soon, I'll have to cut it - again.

I installed a new throttle cable on the old mower. I think I'll get another season out of it.

Sunday I threw a birthday party/picnic for my son.

Tuesday I had a doctor's appt.

Wed.(today ) my daughter took me on the train to see Jersey Boys on Broadway for my Mothers day present. It was fabulous, and lovely weather to boot

Thurs and Friday , we are getting a gas furnace and central AC installed.

Seeding garden ... when it wasn't raining.

Cultivating, also, though one has to wait for a while after a rain.

I was carrying a box of seeding-related stuff into the house (saplings and cardboard for labels for rows, plus plastic to cover them) ... when I knocked over a litre bottle of water, former chocolate milk carrier, that I'd sat by the door to care for FC and cat ... so there was water all over the kitchen floor.

The litre cardboard containers of coffee cream have a plastic cap on top and I use that kind to carry water for the FC (1) in the car ... so it looks as though I'd better do that across the board.

Besides working at the pool, I have been working in my yard. With all the rain we have had, the grass grows quickly. Someone gave me more hostas and I need to get those in the ground and pick up more hostas from someone else. I love hostas. Yesterday evening I chased Finn around while his dad played volleyball. After the games a bunch of us went to Hickory Park restaurant for food and ice cream. It is always fun to catch up with friends I haven't seen for a few weeks.

Not a great week for me Monday I got four new tires put on--you would think they are made of gold. Tueday I did some grocery shopping. Last night I went to my weekly support meeting. Starting about Midnight I ran to the bathroom every hour all night long. Sitting on the pot and holding a plastic bucket. Today I feel completely week and have napped on and off all day. I finally got ahold of my neighbor and she brought me some gingerale about an hour ago. Yuck. Satine

I have a job offer pending the results of a background check & a drug test. Both should be fine. I went to the lab on Tuesday to give a urine sample and - I couldn't go! After 3 tries I could leave & my potential employer had to order a new urine screen. Wednesday morning I loaded up on water - about 60 ozs - and went to the lab and was successful!

I am also getting ready for a garage sale....

Monday I got a lot done. I had been putting off making phone calls and the list just kept growing. I just hate the "press 1 for this, press 2 for that", only to get a message that all the reps are with other customers and the wait time will be 10 minutes. GRRRR!! Got every one of my calls taken care of and it was a big load off my mind.

Tuesday we had to go to VA for Harry's blood work. Got home around noon. Piddled around putting things away and collecting trash for a trash run.

Wednesday the dishwasher repairman came, but I had to wait for him until around 2. It was not good news for my one-year old dishwasher, which was 9 days out of warranty.

Today I haven't done much. I took a nap yesterday afternoon and woke up feeling queasy so shortly after dinner, I went back to bed. Slept nine hours straight. I did make a pan of rice krispie squares because I had marshmallows I needed to use.

Satine, hope you feel better--I had that a few months ago and it was brutal. Plus I didn't even lose one ounce!!

Woring, working and more working. And missing my baby boy (he's no baby. he's almost 14. But he's MY baby) loads and loads. He's hanging out with his dad for awhile. I am, however, loving not cleaning constantly. Or the constant cooking and eating that accompanies a teenage boy. I'm almost rested. I may actually cook something tonight. Something special that he'd never eat. Just so I won't have to hear, why'd you make that? EW. or whatever else he'd say. Kids!

I've been swimming a couple of times. Went up and down the hilll so many times, my ankle got HUGE. Went to a work party with my huge-O ankle. Got my ankle diagnosed. It's arthritis (exceedingly mild) and a not very mild at all, tendonitis. I've been babying my ankle so much, it's weak as a kitten. I couldn't even stand on one foot without wobbling so much. I have been doing PT like crazy! I can stand on one foot now, but I have to move onto stand on one foot with my eyes closed. During evaluation I got to feel like I was at ballet plenty. Loads of bars with feet turned in, turned out, and loads of plie. Ok, maybe I just bent my knees some. May as well have been plie! Felt deep then. Getting better though. And I could probably dance swan lake with all the practicing.

Started the week on Sunday with 100 mile trip for a baby shower for a grand niece. Her first after many tries and a miscarriage, so it was a joyous time for all to see her so radiantly happy. Spent Monday mostly on the 'pot' with an attack of IBS while DH and his sister did some shopping, lunch out and together time without me. Ok with that, I think it was good for them to have that time to connect.
Came back home Monday evening in the rain and spent Tuesday recuperating from the two day trip. Existing in a different environment and all the sitting while visiting really wears me out. Wednesday was grocery day. Again worn out, but did get a little time outside puttering with the flower beds. Yesterday was an all day rain, so did 5 loads of laundry and got out the sewing machine to fix a rag throw rug that had unraveled on one end. Can't find these types of rugs anymore, so I am making what I have last as long as possible. Today, some ironing to do and sit down and pay some bills also have a bunch of catalogs to go through...looking for a gift for a special lady and a 6 year old girl. Will check out Amazon too.

A British Car Show will be in our local park on Sunday. I'll amble over there with my camera. I expect to see prize example of very old MGs, a few Aston Martin's, Lotus, a few others marques, and a smattering of British Motorcycles. One year, I saw a Bently open touring car out of the 1930s. It was a big monster. The engine looked like it belonged in a piece of road construction equipment instead of a motor car.

Went to get a bird feeder and more bird seed..and then back home, my daughter took me and put the feeder up..I spent a good bit of time searching the internet for Dog Rescue's..looking for a little girl Yorkie. My three passed away in the last few years..I really miss them so much. So I find to find just the right one..no luck..I found one but it was too far away and the second I needed a fenced in yard. I have a 26' X 14' enclosed patio but they wanted it to be a fenced in yard. I'll keep looking but won't be in such a hurry..I was very disappointed that I missed out on these two. I needed one age 5 /6 and a weight of around 5 pounds.I have RA in my hands so around 5 pounds would work well.
