Fabulous weather here for February.....sun is shining and it's going to get up to 45�, hopefully. The snow is leaving with a huge rush. Of course, that is bad for flooding, in areas where that is a problem. I will be going quilting at church in a few minutes. My biggest plus this week was getting rid of a lot of plastic containers. I would like to know why covers and their partners cannot stay together. Tossed a bunch of them in the recycle box.

Yesterday was a sunny but chilly, windy day. I went to get a perm, but they were filled up for the day. You don't need an appointment there but you can make one. I don't like appointments, in case the weather is bad, but I did make one for next week. After that I went to WalMart, KMart and Big Lots looking for outdoor chair cushions. "Gaudy" must be the in color for this year. Going on Sunday with my DD to some other places to look. Also went to Sharp Shopper and Krogers. Tomorrow I'm going to take the car in for an oil change and then check out the $ stores for whatever.

Today I hope to get some windows washed.

I'm loving the prospect of having good, warmer weather this week.

Another Sue

Played bridge on Monday, played bridge on Tuesday, Have a luncheon today, a dinner tonight, playing golf on Thursday and Friday. It's suppose to be in the 70's Friday...Yeah! Will be cleaning over the weekend because I have bridge at my house on Monday.

Have had a couple of days of warm weather but oh the ice is so dangerous. Melting during the day, and freezing at night. Expect another storm tomarrow then cooler temps for awhile. But at least it is above 0.
Also waiting for results on son in hospital in Denver. Found a very serious problem hope to get it corrected today so he can get home. Not sure of his job but time will tell. May not be able to drive his truck (18 wheeler) for a few weeks which will affect his job and pay due to the fact he has only worked for 4 months. Just keep him in you good thoughs and prayers.
Lots of deer in towns and farms due to snow pack, but now preparing for flooding in some areas.
Did get to the store yesterday, but I do keep stocked up on most everything. Learned that years ago living in the mountains.

Hubby and I moved to a cheaper place. It's also smaller, and I'm still unpacking and trying to fit things. I normally enjoy moving, and I'm not hating it, but it's an adjustment to be sure.

One thing, is that there's a storage room in the apartment and I bought shelves to fit, and made a pantry/storage room which helps enormously.

Also Mom is in critical care, they flew her by air-ambulance to another city. So between moving, visiting her and unpacking and trying to get settled....life is not what it could be.

The past few weeks have been very busy, what with handling Aunt's burial, memorial service, and trying to get her affairs sorted (bills paid, annuities cancelled, estate account set up, taxes done, etc etc etc). It's SO much more complicated since it's a 'sideways' inheritance. It's taking me a minimum of 2-4 (often more like 6-8) hours a day--even though her estate is tiny after 2 years in assisted living.

Unfortunately, the past couple of days, I've been down with the nasty cold (maybe flu?) that my daughter gave me for my Valentine's Gift this year, so haven't been getting to much done on anything. Shame, too--it's just gorgeous outside!

Not sure if anyone wants to read what all I have been doing. My mother who is her nineties is going to have mohs surgery next week. It needs to be changed twice a day for two weeks and I have been on the phone continually trying to find help. Her request was to be able to live in her home and its getting very stressful. Nurses won't come out since its not skilled nursing, . I called another agency this morning and the director lives close to her. Hopefully if they can't help, they can give me the name of a qualified person we can hire. The nurses said they can teach someone to help, but they cannot do this as its not skilled nursing. I understand, but its very hard when you live 3 hours away. She has refused to come live with us, and we are trying very hard to keep her happy at home. I was up in the night looking on the internet for help in her small town.

Hallgarden, is it possible to find a nursing or med student near you for the job? I hear you about having a 90-year-old mother still living alone in her house! Mine can't seem to take the leap to assisted living and I've finally trained myself not to worry quite so much about her and her situation, as I cannot do anything more to help. (I live in another state as well as a sister, and other sister lives near her but is still laid up and will be for some time.) Anyway, if there is a communitity college or university near you, call them up and see if they might have any suggestions. Of course you would have to thoroughly check the person out first.

I'm STILL sick. Seven days with a low-grade fever and counting, and the second virus in three weeks. It's soooo frustrating to sit around and see all the work piling up around me!

sjerin, thank you for feeling my pain. She lives in a very small town, guess its about 12,000.. The average age is 72 years old. I have a lady that works 20 hours a week, driving her to doctors and getting groceries. Her lady is 78 that drives her around, she comes from an agency that qualifies her as to being in good health and is a safe driver. It stays on my mind all the time. She just will not hear of assisted living. Moving in with us is something she will not discuss. Its so sad watching her struggling to get around. I seem to beat myself up a lot trying to figure out how to help her. I am the mother now and she is the child.

Hubby went south on Monday so I have been trying to get some extra things done. Today has been a good day.. Last night I went to a basket bingo with some friends. Fun time.. Today I have been cleaning and later have to go down to our daughter's house to catch the kids off the bus. She is at the hospital while her SIL has brain surgery for cancer. Tomorrow I have to go to our son's house to watch his kids until Mom gets home.

Hubby comes home tomorrow so I will do some cooking early in the day. I want to make him a meatloaf. It is one of his favorite.

Friday I am going into Joanns to pick up some flannel. Probably will do groceries, too.

Saturday my grandaughter and I are taking blankets to the hospital nursery. She is looking forward to it so much.

Then Sunday we have the twins birthday party. They will be 2. I am hoping for a slower week next week.

Sunday am and pm I attended church.. then Monday we had the Memorial Service for my husband.Yesterday, my step son and I had some shopping to do and doctor appts to see about. Today, he left to go back home, and so I got stayed busy doing laundry and hanging it out to dry. I decided to open windows and air out the house..

Lunching out and shopping until I drop. I found a good buy at Target $2. knee high socks and bought 11 pairs to wear in the winter. Different colors, most with designs on them, fun socks. For the last hour I have been looking over the wallpaper site Raven recommended. I finally got to the end of it. Lots of really nice wallpaper. If anyone knows of a good icon site, please let me know. Most of the icons I find are in frames or boxed, not sure how to explain it. I want free standing icons, like a butterfly with no frame so it looks like it just landed there.

Just working as usual, though I'm having trouble concentrating on work today because my niece sent me a link to her new video commercial and I keep watching it instead of working! She used to be a TV reporter and has recently started doing Internet commercials.
