We use whole and 2%, both organic. I use whole in my coffee and tea and 2% on my cereal. I use both in cooking and baking. When eating cookies or cakes, it's whole for me. I grew up drinking raw milk and loved it. It's probably one of the reasons I still drink whole milk.

I don't think you are ridiculous either. Those are reasonable expectations. The problem is that the parents do not have the same expectations. My advice: Do not have children with the father of this boy. You are getting a firsthand lesson in his parenting style & it greatly conflicts yours.... As for how to not get so pissed and annoyed... well, being pissed at a kid that is doing what his parents have given the great big nod to do... well, he's not going to want to hear your rules.. he likes the ones his parents laid out. He lives with mom, visits dad. If it were me, I might take a class or find a hobby to keep me occupied during the time he is there... leave him to spend his time with his dad. You don't have to have a relationship with him, or have anything in common. If you can let it go so you are not in a bad mood every time he comes over, that would be best for you. As for your husband and his ex, they are the ones that will pay the price if they don't give their child guidance or boundaries. You aren't going to change the boy, so the chances of you having a relationship with him are not good, unless you can forget all the irritating things his parents allow him to do that you disagree with.

Lazypup and Minnie, I make them with field corn and have plenty, but thanks for the suggestions. Gregorysmom, I didn't actually go down, it's just the muscles that I tightened to keep myself from falling that are causing the problems. I would have gone to the reg. dr. or the ER if I had fallen. Maggie200, I took a Flexeril on Sat. night. The only thing it did was to un-knot the muscles that were pulling my back out. It usually knocks me out. Not that night! I am a little better today. I managed to stay in bed last night tho I had been warned to expect to start out in bed and go to the chair in a couple of hours. I still only had 2 positions, and am still exhausted from not enough sleep, but I only got up once to go potty until 6:30 this morning. Ice pack is on as I type. Had to pay bills, so am at the computer as I needed the printer, or I could have taken the laptop to my chiar! Thanks for the well wishes. Tami

I also use recipes interchangeably and haven't found a recipe that doesn't work both in the bread machine and by hand, as I only use the machine for kneading and then shape and bake in the oven. Everything from Grandma's old Farmhouse White to cinnamon rolls to whole wheat and rye loaves, they all work fine both by hand and in the machine. I agree that you need some more liquid/water in that hard to handle dough. I always check the machine and add more liquid if needed, I'd rather have a bit too much than not enough, I can always knead in a bit more flour if necessary. As plllog mentioned, you can add vital wheat gluten to the rye loaves for a bit more "oomph", rye flour is lower in gluten than wheat flour is. Bread is actually very forgiving, and I mess with it at whim. I want big holes I add more water, a dense loaf needs more flour, a tender loaf wants some milk and eggs, and I go by the way the dough "feels" more than anything. The only thing I've been unsuccessful at is a 100% whole wheat loaf with my own home ground flour. The results were consistent, they were all horrible. I finally just stopped, nothing helped that stuff and although I still grind wheat for flour, I use some of my own flour and some King Arthur flour for a passable loaf. Annie
