We called it 'sensitive' plant in NY. Need botanical names. Like when my MIL asked if I wanted some silver dollars. Who wouldn't?!

Some of the comments make this plant sound terrible and deadly. I have this plant in many places on my property and haven't had any negative issues. I even have many pets. I also, have this as a privacy hedge along one side of the property, it's about 9' tall. I have people atop me and ask about it all the time. I usually break off a branch and give it to them explaining how to care for it. The seasonal colors are beautiful. Highly recommend to people, even to pet lovers.

Hi Annie,

Thank you for this article, I do use sticks on fire as it is a beautiful colorful plants with some caution due to its harmful potential

1- use it where there is very little or not passage

2- Let the home owner know of the problem as well as any body who does the maintenance such as gardeners etc....
