Prayer request, again, for my sister

Please include my next older siser, Phyllis, in your prayers. She has been battling lung cancer the past 3-4 years. She's in the hospital now, as her lungs are filling up, not with a liquid that can be drained, but with more of a substance the doctors can't get rid of. She is going home tomorrow and it might be days or maybe a few weeks. She wanted to have a tea party with her youngest grand-daughter and her adult kids are planning the big occasion for this Thursday. I wish I could be there but she's about a 14 hour drive away. She had a good few days during our 'sister' campout last month and was able to join the rest of us at the campground for part of a couple of days. We stopped by her house and had a good visit on our way home too. I don't get to see her often but I will miss her so much. Please pray for an easy passing for her and for comfort for her husband, kids, and grandkids, as well as for the rest of us sisters.

Joyce, I haen't been doing much reading on this side and this morning I just happened to reread your post. Sorry to hear of your sisters passing. My brother is still with us. After a near death night spent with me staying with my sister in law and the Hos pice nurse and family not being able to get him to respond he woke up 13 hours later just fine or as fine as he can be in his situation. When the hospice nurse Jeff stopped in yesterday expecting to see Larry with a high heart rate and low blood pressure and still in the same shape which was reported the night before, Larry asked him when the end might come and Jeff answered "Who knows with you"!!!! LOL All his vitals were fine. Today he is out viewing the countryside with two old friends!! We are so thankful to still have him with us. He wanted to live to see his grandsons play football and their seasons are almost finished. This is a very fragel thin person who needs help walking part of the time. thanks again everyone...really!! tj, my son is working and seems to be doing ok. The problem is, he probably wouldn't tell me IF he didn't feel good w/the fear of having to go back in hosp or back on meds. I know he's been off of his meds. and I'm thrilled, and God willing everything will turn out great on this visit...I just totally panic everytime we do bloodwork. I also know that prayer is powerful, I totally believe the only reason my son survived this was because of prayer. We were told he would not make it, but I knew he would. Prayers on the way and I do hope Dianne will contact the elder associations/social workers at the hospital for additional help. Could she go into a memory care unit? We have an excellent one here in ND. Many times people with dementia develop anger issues. Tell Dianne to contact the Alzheimer's association ASAP. They have some wonderful and trained people to help out with many things. They have presented programs to the people here at the assisted living complex and I have been amazed to see all the help available free. Also make sure all the legal stuff is done=wills, bank accounts, health care proxy, power of attorneys etc. I wish the family the best Marie

Jel...I am so sorry you are all going to lose her. Such a hard thing to face.

I hope she is feel good enough on Thursday to really enjoy her tea party. What a nice thing for them to do...I sure wish you could go enjoy a cup with her.

I sense some bravery and acceptance in your message. This is still something quite difficult to have to endure, so I pray that you and your family will have peace through your sister's passing, and that she is able to enjoy her last days with you. Hugs sent along with this message...

I'm sending up a lot of prayers for you sister Jel. I'm glad you got to spend some fun time with your sister camping, and on your way home. I pray she and her DGD have a most rememberable tea party, and that she has an easy passing to a greater place.

Thank you to all of you who have responded and also those who are saying prayers for Phyllis without having updated the forum thread.

My niece reports last night that Phyllis was pretty cheerful "laughing, talking, and making memories" was how she put it.

It's hard on everyone, but Phyllis is most worried about her grandkids. Some of them are having a really hard time coming to terms.

She is supposed to come home today, provided a hospital bed arrives this morning, as scheduled.
