Lloyd's two days straight in a row.

Friend and her husband took me for a birthday lunch, so Lloyd's was their choice.
You have to get there early, on Sunday, or you have to take a number.

Luckily, Dick got there first and had us a table.

We each ordered half plates.

Dick had the half hamburger plate.
Margaret had half fried chicken plate, white, two breast.

I had half fried chicken plate dark, one thigh, one leg. Best chicken I have had in forever. Butterpeas and creamed corn, which the corn is only served on Sunday.

Already had my nap. No more fried! For a while.

I am just having leftovers too. We had our church dinner today, so there was plenty of food to choose from. I passed on the stewed turtle in brown gravy. I had fried turtle growing up from time to time, but I don't want it now. My supper is just some green beans from my garden and some cucumber salad.

Scalloped potatoes and a meatloaf are in the oven. Can't remember the last time I have made meatloaf. I think I will slice up a couple of the zucchini that daughter gave me. Will sprinkle some Mrs. Dash on and lightly brown the slices on the stove.
Also brought home from daughters 2 kinds of cookies and blueberry coffee cake. Enough dessert to last us a week

Had a fairly busy day today. Did a load of whites and the bedding and had them out on the line. Hubby trimmed the hedges and I raked up the trimmings and put them in the bags for pick-up on garbage day while he mowed the lawn. I then washed our floors, then swept and washed the floors and stairs of the apt building.

Made 2 loaves of bread as well. Picture-perfect loaf, and I posted it on the picture thread :)

Meanwhile I had a roast beef in the slow cooker with a can of tomatoes, some tomato paste, molasses, chipotle peppers, chili powder, garlic, cumin.

Shredded and served on tortilla shells with coleslaw. I didn't feel like serving it on buns. Very good.

Busy day here, trying to get things done before my surgery. Lots to do both in the house & outside.

It was breakfast for dinner tonight. Hubby wanted waffles which I don't eat so I had a cube steak sandwich.

Patti, please make sure you eat something, it is very important to keep up your strength.

DH made some chicken salad today...... I think I'll pass on it and have the left over pizza I have from last night.

I put beef/gravy over a potato and had some peas with it.

We're all getting bored w/summer foods, so I roasted a half turkey breast, and had mashed potatoes w/gravy and steamed asparagus w/hollandise. Dessert was chocolate brownies w/vanilla ice cream.

Made a pot of chicken and dumplings as DD#5 and her DH were going to stop in. Made quite an inroad on that......it's usually a cold weather meal when I have it,but hit the spot today.
