Good Morning, As the kids used to say- "Go Jasmi, Go Jasmi, It's your Birthday"!!!! 'Slim in 6' sounds like a killer that just may work if you can hang with it without getting hurt. I can't wait to break into the 150s. We've moved DH's 76 year old aunt in with us. She has no children, has gotten her finances in a mess, and is getting feeble and forgetful. It is hard on me because she has been alone for quite a while and doesn't want me out of her sight. She walks slowly with a walker and wants to sit and talk all of the time. I've got to carve out time somewhere in the day to get in my treadmill time. I had to go to the grocery store late last night after DH got home, dinner was over, and she had gone to bed. She wants to eat all of the time. YIKES!!! But, she is sweet and has been very good to me in the past. So... life goes on in the wierdest way. My scales said 165 this am. I hope it is true. Come on Ek, get on those scales. It can't be that bad. We still love you! Take my advice and throw that carrot cake away. She is not too dear if she is giving you carrot cake when you are trying to diet. Wish we could get more garden planted. DH tried to plant tomatoes Sat and a storm started before he could finish. Sounds like you have a great one going. Maybe I can get a nice fall garden going this year. We are zone 7 and can extend it into early winter with some protection (according to the books!) I really need more green leafy anything and groceries are REALLY getting expensive. Helen, I love retirement. But, I have been busier than I've ever been since I retired! Have you found that to be true also? I know what you mean about thunderstorms. Last night when I went grocery shopping the sky was lit up continuously with lightening and it started pouring before I could get back home. Crept the last 4-5 miles straining to see through the wall of water. I backed the car right up to the deck steps and carried all of the bags I could get on both arms in at once. The rest stayed in the car overnight. DH brought them in this morning before leaving for work. The driveway has ruts washed in it from the storm. Bummer. Where are you, Harold? Have a great day, Betty

Good evening! It's 86 F. and the mosquitoes had a nice dinner on me - literally! I have bites on my face and on my hands and knees. All the fun spots that I can't resist scratching in my sleep. Donna, I'm so sorry for all you're going through. Be strong and post more often for lots of (((hugs))). Jan, I have severe osteoporosis and have been on Fosamax for 6 years with good results. I'll never be perfect, but my bones are stronger than they were at 55. I also take two calcium tabs every night before bed. Raeanne, I really hope my son loves this birthday gift. In the last few years, I've taken the safe way out and just gone with a GC. And, I didn't make it to Dallas after Christmas this past year, so my sister and decided to just wait until this weekend to exchange gifts. I don't usually wait quite this long! Still lots of packing to do. I keep thinking of things like sheets and spring rods to take to my Dson for when they move into their new home in late August. That's what I used until we got our window coverings, and it was helpful. I also need to take Alexis's (9 yr. old DGD) books to her that she forgot last visit. I haven't seen her in a month, and I really am excited to see her tomorrow night when she flies in from AL and visiting my xh and his wife. Guess I'd better get back to it because experience has taught me that nobody else is going to do my packing for me! Have a great rest of the week!

Lpink came to visit! We had a wonderful day chatting, visiting the local farmers market, and even doing a little canning. I am such a novice it was supre to have her hear to guide me through the intricacies of Apricot CHutney. We also made some awesome pickled asparagus... all the evidence is on the thread called "We Be Jammin"..... It is thunderstormy right now, so no "Dive in Movie" at the local pool tonight. Tomorrow will be our annual Fantasy Football picnic to discuss rule changes that are upcoming and Sunday is going to be a day in the garden again. I really need to get the mulch down in the full sun beds........ Have fun on the Poker Run, Lindaluu! Annie - safe travels to you and Elery - hope you have a wonderful time. Trixie - hope your neighbor is feeling better soon. That is so awesome that everyone pitched in to help. SHelly - hope there are some kicking tomatoes! Katie - send that 75 weather this way - this heat and humidity are aweful! Glad to hear the knee is better though..... Happy and safe one to all! Alexa

Vicky, I have it and I have actually used it LOL!!!!! It made a big difference for me. I watched EB making the 54-40 quilt using her ruler and I didn't want to buy it. I tried using the templates from quilter's cache but I just could not get the block right. I used a 50% off coupon at bought it at JoAnnes. I have Easy Angle, Companion Angle, etc. and like others I find I don't use them. I have fallen in love with JT shape cuts, only prob is you can only cut 1/2 or 1in on mine. The ones I use the most are 6x18, 4&1/2, 6&1/2, 12&1/2 squares and JT shapes. What does the block llok like for Tennessee Twist?? I looked for it and didn't find anything.
