A beautiful but chilly day here too. We are having chicken dressing, roasted and mashed butternut squash and green beans.

It was 34 this morning but the sun was out all day & it hit 60. We did some more work outside.

Hubby had waffles for dinner, both dogs enjoyed what was left. I had a bowl of cereal.

We are going grocery shopping and will probably pick up a rotisserie chicken and some sides while there. I can use the leftover chicken and make a chicken soup or something.

It will be Eye of Round roast and roasted root vegetables. Smells really good- just too early for dinner right now.

Time changes always throw us off. The dogs are on definite tummy clocks and their "alarms" go off around 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Of course they will accept food any time it is offered, or dropped or found.

A little cooler with a nice breeze. I wait all year for weather like this. Won't last long. Back to the middle 80s this week. We are having a pork roast with potatoes and carrots. Our dog has been getting up earlier for a few weeks now, she must have known that the time was changing.

BLT and leftover split pea soup. It was a cold and damp day here in Ohio.

A beautiful, sunny and cold day here. The high was 3C but the sun was nice.

I spent the day in the kitchen it seemed. Made 2 loaves of honey-whole wheat bread. For dinner I tried a new recipe. Buffalo potatoes and chicken casserole. Chunks of potatoes mixed with hot sauce and olive oil and paprika. Roasted, then topped with chunks of boneless chicken marinated in the hot sauce mixture and topped with shredded cheese. It passed with flying colours.

I now have an apple pie in the oven.

DH is going out of town on business. We didn't have lunch, so we went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for an early dinner before he hit the road.

Mary, it would've been a good day to work outside here, too. Nice, easy dinner after all that.

Raven, I dreaded going to the store because it's always so crowded at the first few days of the month. I was surprised that there wasn't that many people shopping (Publix).

Hounds x two, I can almost smell your roast. Yum! LOL at your dogs!

Sandie, it's a little too cold for me. I think you're further south though. I like the mid-80's best. But it is nice to turn on the oven for a nice roast. You have a very intelligent dog. She was getting you prepared for today :-)

Shirley, I will forever appreciate a BLT--or anything with bacon--when I can eat it again! Enjoy it for me!

Jasdip, sounds like the perfect day to be in the kitchen and you sure did make the most of it. Everything sounds delicious and I bet your house smells wonderful.

Kittiemom, hope your DH has a safe trip and you enjoy your time while he's gone. I always enjoyed the few days a year Harry went to convention or conferences.

OldFixer, with a big old juicy steak, you don't need anything else.

Have two meatloaves in the oven, spaghetti sauce cooling, beef stew and chicken and dumplings simmering. Hubby can have his pick. I think I'll snag a piece of meatloaf when it's done. Leaving on Tuesday for two weeks. He won't starve.

both of us have icky tummies, so I don't know. He's a "meat eater", so I may cook up a hamburger patty for him later, and I'll have some chicken soup.

Jasdip I need that recipe it sounds like something we would love.

It was semi crowded at the store still took way too long.
We did go with the rotisserie chicken.

Sometimes this week we will have chili because they had some nice chili meat.

Angelaid, nice of you to cook all that ahead for him. Have a wonderful time in HI--geez, two whole weeks. I could handle that! Did you finish packing?

Aw Jean, hope you two feel better soon. Chicken soup is good for what ails you. And, boy, I should know. I've eaten enough of it the last few months.

We went for a long drive on this beautiful fall day. We went into the hilly, twisty back roads....deep into the woods in some areas, along steep rock cliffs in others.....and even passing miles of cotton half harvested. It was a wonderful afternoon.

We put a chicken on the Showtime when we got home and made a salad.

Had spaghetti with meat sauce and home made rosemary bread.
