Lipton has done it again. . .

I have always used Lipton tea for my hot and iced tea. Sometimes I make a cup of Bigelow Constant Comment or English Breakfast, etc.

Several years ago Lipton tea changed and the flavor was not the same. I wasn't the only one to notice; friends had also. I wrote to Lipton and asked why it was so different. Their reply was that they had changed their harvesting methods, but that the tea was the same, and they sent me some coupons. I adjusted to the new taste over time.

Now they have done it again! I bought a box of 100 bags, like I always do, and I haven't had good tea since, hot or iced. When I opened the box there was a paper included with some information about how now they are harvesting the tea from a variety of places, using words like exceptional or some such. I glanced at it and got the gist of it, meaning to read it again later. It evidently got tossed out, so I haven't read it completely.

The tea is just not good!

I haven't contacted Lipton about this yet. I wondered if any of you have bought Lipton Tea recently and if you have noticed the difference in flavor?

I haven't bought it in years - too strong and black for me.

However, I did have iced tea at a tea room last week, and the waitress said that it was brewed from Lipton tea, and unsweetened. I tried it, and it was fine - not bad at all.

I don't drink tea but I have a friend who drinks it a lot and always buys Lipton. I'll have to ask her about it.

twobit, don't worry, you did nothing wrong. You have to remember, that poor plant had been taken from a very controlled greenhouse, shipped in a dark truck, stuck in a too dark too dry store, and then to your house. The poor thing is just in shock. It's had a radical change in its environment, and dropping the flowers is a survival mechanism. Remember also, plants flower for two reasons; either they're happy, or they're stressed and trying to reproduce before they die. It's generally pretty easy to tell the difference. So, check out the FAQ on the main forum page, because you *will* want to transplant it out of that peat. Give it a couple of months after that and it'll probably start blooming for you. OK. I understand. You were speaking from purely a judicial aspect. Got it. I do think there was a cover-up in the Aruba incident. Wealthy kids often get a pass when they break the law or there is a bribe or a favor to officials. There are "Facebook style" photos of Van der sloot and his "posse" drinking, partying and flashing gang signs on the internet. He was not a "good kid" from a nice family. I'm willing to bet there have been more murders. Serial killers often confess to more unsolved murders after they are caught although this kid seems so pompous I don't think he will confess but there may be evidence from other crimes of missing persons or murders that will point to him as the prime suspect. This would all be moot if he gets sentenced to life in prion in Peru. Ryan, sorry to hear you have lost one. I only got one Sir Lipton Thomas, it's doing ok. I went crazy with Therese Bugnet this year, saw some at HD too, picked more there, now I have 12 of them. :-) Hope they have good fragrance. Good luck with your other SLT and Mister Lincohn. I got 2 Mister Lincoln from Aldi's this spring.

@ roc, yes, I'm thinking about GrabGreen. I saw some powder free/clear on Amazon that caught my eye.. @ Pat, maybe check the dates on the bottle, I'm thinking anything before 2018 should be ok. I'm going to and get a few bottles of the turbo version. @mama, the activator is sodium phenylnonanoate sulfonate, they list it as a wash aid, whitens and brightens clothes. @ rolando, sea and littlegreeny, I don't have a Costco in my area. Pods would be my last resort. Is the All plus f/c available elsewhere? I'll check Walmart for the powder. Greeny, do you know what the ingredients for the All plus liquid and powder are?

Isn't that strange, I have used Lipton all of my life and never noticed a change. I only drink the basic Lipton, none of the flavored stuff.

Have not notice a change either. I have used it for years and years. I buy the multi packs of bags from Costco, and just opened a new one about a week ago and it didn't taste different from the last of last years purchase, that I could tell.

I stopped using Lipton long ago because it had a bitter taste.I use Luziane and have for several years.I have no problems with it.It's cheaper than Lipton too!

I know what you mean Sue. Lipton bought out our Red Rose tea and it hasn't been the same since. I now use King Cole tea when I can find it and it is really good.

Another brand of tea I don't like is Tetley.

I have not bought Lipton for a while. I never got used to the "new" taste. I switched to Luziane and I love it.

I'm another who switched to Luzianne. When I lived up north, my favorite was Salada. But I can't find it down here in SC.

I don't use Lipton anymore. I use Luzianne most of the time. My very favorite is Irani tea, but is is much more expensive than the Luzianne tea. I love a good iced tea!
