Made my day, what made yours?

16 year old grandson called and asked if I'd like to "hang out" with him on Friday.

Of course, it was a big YES!

Don't you just love those calls?

Very nice! Hope we get a picture. I can't remember-are the braces off? My daughters will come off in about 2 weeks. Its been 14 months. They never bothered her and she ate what she wanted-shh. Just thinking-PJR must be a SENIOR this year! Hard to believe. I remember when you stopped by his elementary school to read to the class. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Have fun 'hanging out'.

Sylvia, that's such a nice post! We're always caught dirty, aren't we? But what better way for a gal to be when she's out tending the lands! and I'm sure your yard is great!!! Do you remember if you were the one who brought me some cuttings of some beautiful varigated hibiscus some time back? ....thinking that you wanted some of the anderson crape at that time, too!

Now that is clever! I love the pocket for the bookmarks! I am a sucker for a bag, pouch, etc. DH goes nuts when I tell him "it's in the pocket of the bag" ....he says what bag? You have tons! I love them. Cameras, books, magazines, ipods...they all need special bags! This one is cute though, nice!!

Thanks to all. Greenthumbfish, I saw that stencil at Hobby Lobby. I ended up passing on it because the repeat on the pattern was so small. I was afraid it might end up too busy. I wish they would have made a bigger stencil! Parma, I agree with you 100%. I think that day, my stiff upper lip was already starting to quiver b/c of the rest of the chaos I was having to be so strong about. Handling critique and suggestions (albeit harmless and trying to be helpful) that I had not solicited was just more than I could stand, especially when I thought I was pretty clear on the nature of the post. Again, it had nothing to do with the comments, and everything to do with the timing. Sometimes you just can't hear how you can be "better", especially when as you explained, "better" is so subjective to personal style. I will remember your words, though, and will make sure to laugh at myself as I count my accessories! Puna, I have to say I'm pretty dismayed as well. For the life of me, I can't figure out how removing those comments was necessary or helpful. (Yours and several others, including some of mine!) Ugh. LaFonda, yes, my stomach went into knots when the property manager called and said I needed to get over there immediately because water was "everywhere". I thought he was exaggerating. He wasn't. Ugh again. Joanie, I don't think I'll stop, but I think I may definitely change how I post photos. This post has served as very clear reminder of how some people think, and knowing I can't change that, all I can do is change how much of it I set myself up for. Patty, you got the whole point of the post; I was delighted to find something so pretty when I was going through something so horrid. Thanks for "getting it."

Ann - Thank you, the guests left full and that was my price. I like when everyone eats and have a good time. Chase - You had a bright idea with the homemade ketchup, they were perfect pairing for the meats. I will make them again. Dixiedog - This morning we had some frost in the lawn, but when I went to check the tomatoes, it was warmer and sunny and they are still doing fine. I served the food buffet style and everyone served themselves as much as they wanted. Love to have guests and cook for them, if you were living closer, you would also be invited. From the appetizer dish that I don't know how I posted upside down, lol. I was left with puff pastry and for lunch I made more tomatoes. Silvia

Aw, that was sweet, Glenda. Trying to think what "made my day" yesterday. Well, let's see. Jody had a good day shrimping and I went to the dentist and had a nice talk with the guy who does the lab work about my permanent teeth that I will be getting in a few weeks. I also had a nice visit with my friend, Tanya, who gets lots of Sara Lee bread from the breadman, and shares it with me for my animals. We made plans to go to a plant sale this weekend.

Rhonda, such a precious "date".

My day started off good, hope it continues.

Lifeguard sees me toting a chair to the lap pool and he comes and gets it and carries it over to our pool.

He's a cutie and so polite.

Lisa, Parke still has a while with his braces, and he is a SENIOR now.

Glenda, what are you two going to do tomorrow? Whatever, I know you will be in seventh heaven. Parke and my grandson, Alex, will both be seniors in the fall. Big year for those guys. Have fun--as if I had to add that!!!

Lovely, Glenda. I have a friend who knows that if her grandson calls up just to hang out, it's because he wants something and it won't be CHEAP, lol.

you must be a fun grandmother! I'm sure of it. Why else would he seek you out?

My blood pressure was down 10 points and my weight was down too. Maybe there's a correlation?

For certain, I'd never hang up on my grandson.

Yes, grandson and I have a wonderful relationship.

Yea, rob333 on your blood pressure and your weight.

Yea, I totally know it. It's why I winked. I just having to lose weight. heavy sigh. Been working on it and it's working. I'd just like to be where I was 20 years ago without the work, of course!

So when do you get to see him? What will you do? It's time!

Well, he called and is working on a construction site. Due to the heavy rains lately, no work, so he's making bucks, today.
I'm off the pool, and hope the water is warmer than yesterday.

Made my day today when all of my 4 kids and one grand daugher came over and we had an unplanned lunch here. Oldest Granddaughter lives about an hour away and so she was not here.
