Im half way there as of today, I lost 24lbs yeah!!!!I go The 22nd for another fill.

my kidney dr and the dr that did the surgery are excited.Im the first patient in this area and Hershey to be a dialysis patient that had lapband surgery.

If/when it happens again, you might consider switching to transworld network...aka epowerc.net. I liked them fine when I had dial-up and have even kept them as a back-up since getting local broadband wireless which sometimes goes out. I think the monthly cost is maybe $16.95 with no contract and tech support can get you all hooked up via a phone call with no installation disc needed. They also have a free accelerator you can download too. A while back my broadband went out on a Thurs afternoon. Fri I was told it was a bad part on the tower and a new part had been ordered. Well I figured it would be express delivered for installation on Sat, or Monday at the latest since there were a lot of customers totally without service. No, it was sometime Tuesday before they got the part and got it installed and up and running. That's why I keep a dial-up as a back-up, plus the fact that I have by long distance with them (transworld) and get a really good price per minute and for the net, if I have paperless billing. I had one OM planted right at the road, exposed to road salt, plowed snow. It has done very well, but after the brutal winter this year I thought it would be set back or maybe dead. Not so, I even transplanted it (added another and put a new Snakes Eyes in the middle) and all are doing great. Gets morning sun about 8:30 - 9 AM and maybe 1 1/2 hours and then into shade. Jon

Here it is! It's a row house, so long and narrow - the dining room is where the picture-taker is standing, and the living room is even farther back (the seating area you see is the "TV/play area". There are side windows up high. (Errant, they have a 20-month old son, so hopefully not TOO long before they have another LOL)

Pattico-From a site on the web about the lap band:
"The lap band is a device that is wrapped around the upper part of the stomach dividing it into two parts: a small upper pouch and a lower stomach. The upper pouch can hold only about 4 ounces (1/2 cup) of food. As a result, you eat less food at one time, feel full sooner, and feel satisfied longer. The goal is to lose weight gradually, at a healthy rate of 1 to 2 pounds per week.
The side of the Band that fits against your stomach is lined with a soft balloon. After the gastric banding surgery, saline (a safe fluid) is delivered into the balloon to control the band tightness.
The degree of band tightness affects how much food you can eat during a meal and the length of time it takes for food to empty from the upper pouch. When the band is adjusted to the proper tightness,you'll feel full sooner and stay fuller longer.
During the Band procedure,a port made from an implant-grade medical plastic and silicone is fastened usually about 2 inches below the rib cage on the left or right side. (The exact location will depend upon your body shape and your surgeon's decision.) The port is used to deliver saline into the balloon via thin, flexible tubing.
The Port is completely enclosed inside the body."
One good thing about the lap band is that it is reversible and can be removed later on and another is less risk involved as opposed to other weight loss surgeries.It is done laparoscopically,so no cutting and dicing.LOL
I was considering it but have been losing weight so I decided to wait and see.I think that is the surgery that CR is preparing for??

Thanks everyone Im finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel,many long years.See my mother died when I was 18,about 1 year before my mother found out she had a kidney problem that killed her mother at 40,then I was tested I had it,mom died at 46.I was told I would die at 40,so I lived most my life doctoring ...seriously.. didnt take it well,lived most of it dwelling on thought of dieing at 40,now 4 years of dialysis I really have had about enough.Seeing all there at dialysis we lost a special guy there last week 44 yr old,a woman quit Monday died Fri now today another lady quit She was special everybody loved her,I bought her 6 roses and gave them to her yesterday.
There is no balloon in this surgery the band has pockets all around ,they are in the band they inject saline in the port it goes to the band fills pockets which tightens the band.
