I've not had a chance to check out her recipes. Will have to do that. I spent all last night until midnight and all day today just reading her love story and I am NOT a reader, but her story just held me captive.

LOL Linda I need to start it again tonight but I am sooo tired....spent the day at the beach with my parents and i know if I start it tonight....I will stay up late and I need to get the house clean tomorrow and I want to go to Port Arthur to the HEB (without my nubbys and just walk sooo slowly up and down the eisles and look at all the different grocerys they have (we don't have one any where near me in OK so when I come here I sooo love going there...) and if I go around noon I can eat too LOL all the free samples....Stacy

gemini, like you, I want the rest of the story from honeymoon on through the birth of their 4 children. There are bits and pieces of info in her archives, but not in story form.

Love those onion strings.....may have to indulge myself today!

Yes we do buy shrimp here...or should I say brian does I don't eat shrimp....My sis makes the jalpenos things all the time I am going to this week....I also will do the onion strings this week....Stacy

Which apple dumpling recipe did you use? The one I wanted to try called for 3/8 qt. of white sugar and 1/3 oz. of ground cinnamon. That stopped me in my tracks. How many tablespoons, or parts thereof, is 1/3 oz., keeping in mind that ground cinnamon is a dry ingredient, not wet? How many cups, or parts thereof, is 3/8 qt. of sugar, again keeping in mind that sugar is a dry ingredient?

Love the MM Sandwich
and the onion strings
olive cheese bread is next on the to try list

Love those onion strings.....may have to indulge myself today!

Did a peek at her apple dumplings.

I had my first taste at Senior luncheon. Was called THEN apple dumplings with sprite.

First time I made them I followed recipe, but next time I "eye'ed" it with the sugar and cinnamon and cut down on the butter.

Still delicious!

Pauline I made this one....but I cut the sugar down an added more cinnamon an also some nutmeg.....I wanted it not so icky sweet an more spicey....Stacy UMMM Glenda you never ever cut down the buttaaaarrrrrr!! LOL

Here is a link that might be useful: Apple dumplings

Yes, I remember when that apple dumpling recipe was posted a long time ago on the KT. I have it copied someplace and I even made them.

Sue

Grinch, thank you for the link. That's the recipe I copied, but your link had better measurements and much better instructions.

You are welcome....I hope you like them as well as we did! Stacy

I've never had apple dumplings before, but those are mouth-watering. Nutmeg would be a good addition, Stacy. Did you sprinkle it on the top, too?

I made her baked smashed potatoes recipe last year, and they were a big hit! Yummy!

Yes Patti I put the cinnamon an the nutmeg in the sugar/butter sauce an then sprinkled it on top (both) STacy

I have my onions soaking now so will post later how these turned out! Stacy
