DS had his second MRI on his hip and got the results today.

They did an MRI specifically geared toward avascular necrosis. And it appears that he doesn't have it!

Thank goodness. But the ball that fits into the hip socket has a bump on it, and a torn labrum. So he will be having surgery to shave off the bump and look at the labrum. he is nervous about telling them at work tomorrow since he's been ther only 3 weeks. But it's something that he has to have done now as he will soon be off of our insurance. Thank goodness it's not avn! phew!

It's probably time to start a new thread with the new results. This one's gettin' hefty. Of all the feedings to miss, May is the most minor. It's much more important to feed well in late summer (organically) and fall (whatever). My first fall feeding went yesterday, and is now waiting for rainfall to activate. I tend to feed organically on August 1, September 1, and October 1, but technically the October 1 application is optional. I still like to do it, and it seems to help a lot. Overall, if the price of OceanGro is much cheaper than soybean, go with the OceanGro unless you have a really good reason to use the soy. In my case, it's the other way around; soy is much cheaper than Milorganite, so soy is my heavy-hitter. Soy: About 7-1-2, but if you said 7-2-1 I wouldn't blink. Good nitrogen, 100% slow release, and an excellent overall feed. Soy has no other defining characteristics other than being a good feeding. Around 20% will eventually become humus, but soy is on the low end due to the high nitrogen (which means high protein). OceanGro: 5-5-0. Good nitrogen, 90% slow release, and an excellent overall feed. Good, but slow, phosphorus source, although in a high P soil I'd avoid it for that reason. Contains 2.5% iron, so it's a good source of Fe as well. Around 10% will eventually become humus.

I feel so bad for your DS Tami. My DD has always been a great student,did well in college and is an excellent writer. Today she is an accountant and an excellent one. However she always did poorly on written tests. She could do a great report or essay but froze on written tests. Only her high grades in the classroom got her into the University. Her SATs were mediocre even though she knew the material. She also froze on her CPA test. A few years back she had to take tax certification tests so she could add certified tax preparer to her business card. She was so proud that she passed them. Gave her a bit more confidence and now she says when life is less busy she may go back and try to test for her CPA again. DS on the other hand was a "horrible" student,rarely studied or did homework, hates to write but could ace just about any test you throw in front of him. Doesn't matter if it's an academic test or one dealing with life skills. Go figure. I wish schools and businesses would get a clue that people have different learning styles and put more stress on how one applies their knowledge and skills rather than how well they can fill in bubbles on a piece of paper.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. The only pain he is having is in his shoulder.He had rotator cuff surgery about six months ago.The doctor said that he will probably not be able to go golfing until March.That will be a year from surgery.This, he is really looking forward to.So, he watches the Golf Channel while playing a realistic golf game on the computer. Thank you again for your prayers.

Yes, fixable and hopefully something to put behind him. I hope his employers can spare him for a while. Ryan is young, he'll heal quickly.

That's wonderful news! I'm sorry he has to have surgery, but he should get it done now. Let us know when he is having the surgery, so we can begin the prayers. Hugs!

Heck-he can always find another job but a fixed hip=priceless!! Sorry he has to do that, but there is no getting around it. Get it done ASAP!

Most places are pretty nice about empoyees needing medical attention, and more than likely his will be too. I'm so relieved it's not the condition you told us about. Let's hope the surgery and recovery are successful. Thanks for letting us know; I was wondering and thought maybe I'd missed the news.
