I'm going to CVS sometime this week for my flu shot, got the pneumonia a couple weeks(?) ago. That one hurt for a few days.

I've been having what I'd describe as mild flu symptoms since Sat. afternoon. So achy, tired, nose dripping. Could be allergies tho. Last time I got the Claratin in a melt-away tablet version, you place on your tongue because the store didn't have the boxes of capsules. Maybe it's my imagination but the melt-aways don't seem to help as much?

I'm due for my second shingles shot but have had such a wicked cold I've put it off but I know that there is a window of time to get it done. I'm going to check on that today.

I had the high-end flu shot and didn't even get a sore arm. No side effects. I hope my doctor has the shingles shot in so I can get that. I already had a pneumonia shot years ago, Is there a new one I should get?

Doctor and nurse both said it was fine. Shingles no, said to wait on that.

My arm is pretty sore from the Pneumonia shot and swollen. Last night it was a tad itchy and red but I didn’t know if it was the irritation from the bandaid under my shirt or what. Redness is gone. My DD (NP) said to take a Benadryl and go to bed. So I did. I had already taken an Aleve earlier right after the shot, per the Nurse’s instructions. She said whatever you can take for mild pain relief, take it for about 3 days.

Other than the soreness I am fine. Walked this morning and just finished working in the yard/ gardens for over 2 hours and did a bunch of little things around the house.

Thanks for asking everyone! This was my first pneumonia shot. I had a lingering URI last spring. Then in the summer I found out the wife of a former co-worker passed away from pneumonia complications this summer while we were on vacation. I knew her but not well. She was a lot younger than I am. Nothing like a wake up call.

We are up to date on all shots and will get our yearly flu shots on Monday. I called this morning to get that appointment. We don't have to see the doctor, just go to the lab.

Outsideplaying, I was shocked how much that pneumonia shot hurt! I'm a shot veteran and I've never experienced such enduring throbbing soreness. It took about a week to subside.

Still better than the alternative though.

I got the pneumonia shot at my last physical. Those shots do leave more pain and stiffness than most others. The nurse insisted on using my non dominant shoulder . I let it go even though I preferred the other. When I get the second one I will insist it be done on my dominant side. No debating. I had to consciously remind myself to work that side so it wouldn't stiffen up. My work paid off, I managed to stave off extra days of soreness and do my horse thing the following day which also helped. But it would have been so much easier if it had just been my dominant side using it in normal activity.

Lily, there are two pneumonia shots now, one added in the last few years. The original, pneumovax23, and now the prevnar13. We've had them both, but I had the original '23' when young enough (think I was about 50 yrs) that they now want me to have a booster so I should make it a point to do that. They said when I'm over 65. I'm over 65 + a couple ;0)

Yep, got both pneumonia shots last year since I was high-risk from having had the SCT. Just got my flu shot Monday, and no aches or issues this year.

Got my high dose flu shot about 10 days ago. Got the 2nd part of the Shingles vaccine at the same time. It's been in very short supply just about everywhere and I was on the "wait list" at my RiteAid. I will get the 2nd Hepatitis vaccine in Nov - it has to be 6 months after the first. I'm up to date on both pneumonia shots. Need to see about getting a whooping cough shot - I'm afraid of the anti-vaccinators.

I may get the flu shot tomorrow, but not the high dose one. Had both pneumonia shots.
