Do You Wear white shoes????

This goes with my do you wear white pants post. I do not like white shoes unless they are tennies~~I think they make my feet look huge. I have one pair my DD bought me in Spain kinda of a backless Mary Jane style with ladybugs and leaves on them~~I do wear those but the truth is only when she is around:(

Maybe I should really go crazy and buy a pair of white sandals to go with my white pants??? No I can not go that far!

I wear white tennis shoes and I do like white sandals. I think white sandals make my very pale legs and feet look somewhat tan.

I agree with you. I do wear white tennis shoes, but even when I own white shoes, I just don't wear them. I do think white sandals would look good with white slacks though. You should match your shoes to the clothing closest to the shoes, usually the hem of the skirt, pants, shorts or dress you are wearing.

I wear ankle rubber shoes that have a zipper up the front. the current favorites come from SoftMoc. I like with the zipper the shoe doesn't slosh around on my feet. The soles are thick with a good tread. I have worn work shoes with steel toes and while you do get used to them, not much we do doesn't require them and they are heavy which I do not want any longer. I wear these shoe-like rubber boots year long and for all activities i e walking the dog. My daughter in Toronto wears hers all the time as they are a great walking shoe in the support department.

I don't really remember, other than a couple of pairs that matched specific outfits. That was back when we bought 'outfits', we couldn't wear pants (certainly not jeans). I babysat for most of my clothes money. There was a dress code, a minimum length for skirts. My first year out of high school I worked part time in a forestry office while going to Jr College (it was Weyco) and they still had a dress code, not even matching jackets/pantsuits were allowed. I was scolded for culottes (aka split skirt) (knee length and with stockings) when I showed up for the afternoon after attending classes. The head forester, crabby old guy ;) I see his son occasionally now and I shared with him that his dad had read me the riot act for being inappropriately dressed (he had also said disrespectfully dressed) and he really laughed, enjoyed hearing a story about long ago (1968) since his dad passed several years back, thanked me for telling him. I remember the last time this came up. The drama from some on either side of the issue. The ones who have special feet that need shoes on, etc. For me, i take my shoes off most of the time. I'm more comfortable that way, plus there's not the mess in inclement weather. I grew up not taking them off, short of boots, but as I've matured this habit has changed. I think the studying of the Japanese culture and traditions has made me change to a shoes off on entry. For a while, and still occasionally, I'll take off dirty/wet shoes and put on some boat shoes as my semi-indoor shoes, although I'll still wear them out to get mail or to step out for a breath of air or something as long as they're not getting dirty or wet. Plus with the medical issues the latter years, shoes aren't as wanted. When I go someplace I normally take them off especially in the winter but even in the summer as a courtesy to people who take pride in their homes and don't want dirty footprints on everything. I can't understand people who think they can slop through snow, slush, salt, mud and whatever else and then walk on peoples' carpets, wood steps and floors and be offended when people ask them to remove the slop. Maybe people should be washing their feet before entering others' homes. My sister's ex-boyfriend was one who refused to remove his shoes and he insisted on wearing waffle stompers on top of it. He was given the option, and not just at my place but others too, that he can remove his shoes and come in or keep his shoes on and stand in the genkan until he is slushless. People who can (and do) wipe their shoes can wear them AFAIC.

Wouldn't wear either of the shoes shown above. Clog-types aren't comfortable for me. We just returned from a vacation in Los Angeles, traveled down by train, so I could take pretty much what I wanted. I took along 2 pairs of Alegria wedge slides, a pair of Clarks wedge espadrilles (love those), a pair of Ryka walking shoes, and my favorite black pumps (because one never knows...). Wore them all. Most of my shoes now are open-toed (it's about the pedicure), and most are Alegria and Clarks, which both have wonderful foot-beds, great for my high arches and bad back. Thank heavens shoes are getting more and more snazzy, even for geezer women!

No...I do not wear white shoes...

I have big feet...(big person)...and I think they look terrible on large feet.

No I don't wear white shoes unless they are tennis shoes. Like you, I think they make my feet look like boats!

I have white sandals and I wear them alot. I have one pair of white shoes - a low heel - but only wear them when I dress up - which I seldom do.

I have one pair of white sandals, low heel. Like Lindy, I uslly wear them only with a skirt or white pants.

Good I am not the only anti white shoe person~~lately I do not even buy white work out shoes I got gray the last time.

I finally realized I do not look good in all-white shoes. I do wear athletic shoes that are mostly white with some color trim, and I've worn white sandals, no problem.

Sandals or tennies but that is it. I do love spectators tho, do they count?

I used to have some really nice white flip flops but last year's puppies nibbled on one and so they ended up with both of them. I haven't bought anymore yet.

I like the look of white sandals/flip flops ... but my main problem with them is that so often, people don't keep them clean & white. They are *not* attractive if they're dirty.

I don't care for many white dress shoes ... altho a long time ago when I could still wear heels, I had a pair of winter-white (a really really REALLY pale taupe) peep toe shoes that were awesome. I could've worn those babies every single day they were so comfy.

I have one pr. of white flats that are open on one side (kind of hard to describe) that I wear with my white pants. We have hot weather during the yr. as well as summer so they're worn throughout the yr. Really comfy as the bottoms are made of some kind of spongy stuff.

I have one pair of white sandles to wear on vacation and during the hot days of summer, usually with something preppy that has some white in it. If I'm wearing white capris I usually wear my Cole Haan thong wedges that are a tan leather.
