Update on my friend with cancer (sorry.. long)
Comments (35)Suzieque...thank you so much. I just heard that the hospital may send her home tomorrow, they have her on a pump for pain and i am not sure if that will continue at home, but her dh said she wants to go home. Marie... I hope your DD and DH continue to improve. Thanks for the note, you have been so kind to me in the past. and helped me with other things. Ellie.... aw, thank you! I often feel, and say, that I wish I could be as articulate as some of you on here. I appreciate your kind words. I imagine as we all age, we will be in these situations more often than not. And, of course, one of these days...... no one can say when..... we will each be the one whose hand is being held. All I know is that we are not promised a tomorrow....so live today as if it is your last. I have not done that by any means, ever, in fact I am one of the worst for worrying about things I cannot change, but sometimes things happen to put life in perspective for you. This is a wonderful place, this KT, to come and share and ask for advice, and for prayer and good thoughts. And also to pass on encouragement to our 'cyber' friends as they need it. Bless you all!...See MoreBought a camel/butterscotch down altn.
Comments (40)Sharee, the red quilt really pulls out the color in the pillows. I like it on top of the bed. (But then again, I like color, natch.) I agree that the fur is too small. Maybe you could lay it at an angle or drape it on one corner? Regarding the duvet cover, the way to avoid having to "fuss" with it is to turn it inside out, sew a 12# length of fabric tape to the bottom two corners, do the same to the bottom corners of the comforter, and tie together. Keeps the quilt from shifting and easily comes undone when you want to wash the duvet cover. BTW, I love your spider chair!...See MoreLow Profile Box Spring Cover
Comments (17)Thought I'd post an update in case anyone searches for a thread in the future. DD1 ran across PureCare at a store in a semi-nearby town, but they didn't have the sizes she needed. The fabric is nice and thick. They have several depths, so they will work with her low profile box and thick mattress. She has a feather bed, so she is using the OmniGuard mattress protector for the king (instead of mattress pad) and PureCare box spring protector. Both are full encasement. The king price is same on website and Amazon, but website is less on twin (split box). Here is a link that might be useful: PureCare...See MoreSouthwest bedroom complete
Comments (27)Joanie - the pillows just go on the floor between the nightstand and window. And yes, some days I'm lazy and don't completely make the bed, but just sort of pull the covers up and plop the two king sleeping pillows on top. The shutters do block light quite well. I'm sensitive to outside lights (and noises), and have a hard time falling to sleep unless everything is just so. Have never had an issue with the shutters not doing what I need them to do. ;-)...See Morenatal
