low cost greenhouse panels or coverings?
Comments (6)I really like the low-cost polyethylene panels from Farm Tek. Ran about 13.50 per sheet for 20 sheets. Very flexible, so you may need thin purlins between roof joists. So far, I don't, and it held a 10" snow with only the fasteners on the edges of the sheets, but it was sagging. It's like working with plastic cardboard boxes. Very easy to cut, bend or shape. -Ed...See MoreNeed a low profile box spring cover
Comments (6)CozyFarmhouse-- That's exactly what I have decided to do. I found a store online that carries fitted sheets from 6" depth on up. So that seems the best option that I've found. The store is Cozytown Linens. Has anyone here used them?...See MoreLeast worst option for microwave placement--maybe low-profile OTR??
Comments (44)I am the OP. We visited an appliance store the other day that had real kitchen scenarios set up with working appliances. The microwave drawer was full of spatters, and I certainly wouldn't want to try to get down on the floor to reach in to clean it out. So, I've eliminated that idea. I think (not 100% certain though) that for us it is going to be either the GE spacemaker that hangs from an upper cabinet or a shelf like Darbuka has that is installed at the bottom of an upper cabinet. Darbuka--Qjuick soapstone question for you: Is this what your soapstone still looks like or has it darkened considerable over time? I love soapstone and have some elsewhere but as just too worried that it is so dark. Your looks much lighter and is lovely....See MoreDo I have to replace the box spring too?
Comments (23)Most of today's mattresses are not two-sided, flippable. They don't require true box *springs*, just a platform or slats. I think it's because they rest on their four wooded sides, and the mattress doesn't 'feel' any springs other that what's inside of them. Last fall we bought a latex-plus-springs mattress and have been satisfied with them. (Amore Beds in Chicago) We bought two TwinXLs that we use as a twin. They were shipped to us. We needed our DS and DGS to carry them into our bedroom, as each was 70 lbs. They sit on our existing boxes (no springs inside). We'd tried all-latex in a store but didn't think we could get used to the sort of solid/cement feeling (no springs in them). These have been a good compromise. There is minimal 'hammocking'. We rotated them once, but as others have said, I don't see the point of it if you can't FLIP 'em!...See More- 9 years ago
