Here is the fabric made up on Country Curtains.
The colors look alot brighter than what they actually are.
My pics show you nothing really since the colors are completely washed out.
The fabric is not as vivid as what they show it to be but it is more so than my pic shows.
It is the same fabric though.

Linda, I love the fabric you chose. Moire is a favorite of mine, and the colors in the plaid are lovely. I can just see you doing the victory dance! LOL

I feel like we only have pieces of information, so I am going to ask a few questions. It would also help to have pix of the whole room, or even a drawing of the floor plan so that we can tell what is going on in the entire space.

What is the look you are trying to achieve - casual yet elegant? More french country but not as formal? Something else?

If the cabinet has to stay where it is (and I am never convinced of that on the first shot, LOL) do you ever open the window? If not, you need to take down those draperies and put them on either side of the window by the chairs. I would Think about either doing a solid, closed panel of the fabric, or a large piece of artwork, or a shelving unit that sits on the cabinet, finished to match, that will completely hide the window. What you are doing with the side panels is drawing more attention to the window back there, rather than making it disappear. And disappear is what you want it to do as long as the cabinet is in front of it.

What is on the wall behind the couch - another window like the one by the chairs? Do you need matching treatments for both sets of windows if that is the case, and do you have enough fabric to do it?

Yes, I could easily see green in there. I would think about doing the couch in a pretty shade of green, or in a deeper shade of the wall color (which I couldn't find on the BM site - do you have the color number instead of the name - Millet didn't come up).

Do the wing chair in a stripe of some kind. Maybe something like this?

Does the other large armchair stay? Does it need to be re-covered?

Then perhaps this toile for some pillows for the couch and one lumbar pillow on the chair?

There is also Rustic Life, Porcelain, that might work, but may be too bright.

As for roman shades, it would depend on whether you intend to have the plaid panels on those windows, and whether you need privacy, light control, or just a window treatment for looks.

A rug is hard to suggest because I can't really see what your floors are now and how much space you are trying to cover. It also depends again on where you are headed style-wise.

Of course, the fabric suggestions are just that- suggestions. Too hard to tell colors for sure on the monitor to know that they would match - but it gives you some ideas about what kinds of fabrics you might try to find.

Once you get all those things in place, then you can also bring in more green in your accessories - and you already have some plants to help that along, too.

Ad for the knobs on the cabinet, I would be inclined to choose a brushed metal finish of some kind - nickel, brass? What do you like, and have already in the room in things like lamps and pix frames?

The Stripe Capulet I have had saved forever wanting to use it somewhere.
The window behind the cab and the two big windows on the front of the house are it.
Sofa is on wall facing front windows. No pictures over sofa. Was waiting to get new sofa.
The white wingback stays to be recovered and the chair with the blue slipcover goes. It is too big for the room as is the sofa. So I wil ned another chair or two.

I have a blue & white table lamp w/wht shade. Another lamp but it can go.
This room is where we live. I like French Country and leaned toward that in kit & dr.
All floors are wood.
Brand of paint is Porter Paints.
Always used BM but painter only uses Porter so forgot.

Windows never opened but I need privacy thats why the blinds. Plaid will go on front also. Plaid will have to be
kept off the window panes because "the ZOO here recline on a pillow on a cherry table." They watch squirrels and anything else that breaths all day long.
Whatever I use for the privacy issue will have to be something that can be pulled up out of their way.
Was it a bad idea to take rods to the ceiling? DH has already cut and made all the short rods for the windows.
I was going to do front windows like I did the side ones.
Rods on big windows are not up yet so I am still open.
I am going to get a good camera this week-end and will take pics of the whole lay out and what furniture I have that we could use if we wanted too.
I will post better pictures so we will all know what we have to work with. I will measure wall space and show door ways and etc.

LR furniture is barely two yrs old and I hate it. It was picked by a decorator. Evidently my Baylee didn't like it either. He has wet the rt front leg of the sofa many many times.

Love-my-lilhome! I can't believe this post. I have fallen in love with that moire plaid at CC, and plan to make drapes, too! And in my file of "Rooms I Love" I have sotred that BHG yellow/blue/red room twice! I have a large hand-me-down collection of Blue Willow and some blue transferware. We are on the same decorating page! How fun!

I absolutly love that couch. I can't offer much more, since I'm still not that great at this decorating thing, but I'll watch this post closely to see what others think. I do know you've got great taste! Have fun with this room!

Okay, since there is no window behind the couch, my first (and only at this moment) question is why the cabinet can't go on that wall, instead of in front of the window on the end wall?

If it is because of where the cable connection is, you can get longer cable to run around the floor to allow you to place the tv elsewhere (we have done that in several rooms) or you can have the cable outlet moved.

Or, if nothing else, the cabinet gets angled in a corner left or right of where it is at the moment.

So, let's think on that option for a minute, and then we can go from there. I think the rods to the ceiling are great, and I think you have some amazing pieces in the room to work with. Wood floors, a bonus that allows for a great rug if you want one.
