what color should i paint my kitchen

I am posting this for my daughter who doesn't have access to a computer right now. She is trying to decide what color to paint her kitchen since she had a tile backsplash installed...The kitchen is presently painted honeymoon and she somehow feels like it is too yellow for the beige backsplash...what colors would compliment all the kitchen the best? She has an open floor plan with the living/dining room leading into the kitchen...any help would be greatly appreciated..

What a beautiful home your daughter has. Is she wanting another color or does she want to go neutral? For a color I might go with a softer, but light golden yellow in about the same depth of color she has now. If a neutral I'd go with the lightest shade of the tile.

I know that she likes color....She was originally thinking of painting it latte, but didn't think that it would have enough color for her... primarily she is looking for a color that will best compliment the countertops, cabinets, and backsplash. I believe she is trying to get away from the yellow's....How would sw baguette look in there? any ideas of colors would be greatly appreciated.

Your kitchen sounds lovely. Have you posted this question on the decorating forum? I ask because they have so many great people who know color. I have a few ideas but it is hard to know the specific shade of terracotta or the stain on your maple. Instead I posted some light maple kitchens with similar counters. Either leave them as they are, or use the White Dove color. If you try to paint them gray, they won't work with your floors, back splash, or wall color. White Dove will work without having to change anything else. Are you also planning to paint your window trim? You might consider just painting the uppers in White Dove if you're trying to lighten the space.

Nobody asked for the full context. I did, as she wrote"my floor is ceramic beige and cream tones" Call it big trouble in "river city" .....from her private message. Wait until the op returns. Paint is the least of the issue right now. To others.......... When we prod and poke beyond your obvious question? We do it for a reason, and it isn't to annoy you. Ask FIRST before major investments in any partial refresh of anything. : ) but especially kitchens and baths.

Those are very nice looking cabinets and I would not paint them. Having your cabinets professionally painted is quite expensive. And, these cabinets seem too quality for a DIY paint job. Your counters are what really throws the color of this room off for me, but I suspect a counter replacement is not in the stars for you now. I really like the wall color with the floor and the cabinets, but again the stone is throwing it off. Maybe one of these genius pros on here could suggest a new wall color to tie the cabinets, counters, and floors together?

This is eagertopaint's daughther...I like the honeymoon color, but I just wonder if a tan would be better. I've tried many color samples and cannot find anything that I just love. Any color suggestions/comments would be appreciated!

Hi decorinva. I'm glad both you and your mom were able to join us. I wish some of the color gurus around here would join in. I'm not one to know colors by their names. I don't have any color fan decks, though have lots of chips. All of Laura Ashley, which I personally love. They happen to be tucked away now though. If you really want color have you thought of any blues? Blue would be a great complementary color to your cabinets and work well with the green in your dining room too. At least I think so.

This is eagertopaint's daughter...what about a beige-ish color? I thought Ralph Lauren's Haystack was pretty. It is hard to find a color that works well with the cabinets. Any thoughts/suggestions?
