Sink color for dark granite/light cabinets...
Comments (7)hi, we are doing very dark granite (blackish brown) with light sinks(kohler sea salt). our vanity will be dark wood. i think if your tub and toilet are white, i would stick with white. the contrast can really look nice! i also saw at the bath showroom some light, almost transluscent sinks(undermount-also kohler) which looked neat. i don't think i'd want black for a master bath sink--i think it may show lots of spots and need FREQUENT drying....See MoreDark Green v. Comments (6)Thanks everyone. Coast Green, Costa Esmerelda and Namib are all pretty much in the light category and absolutely beautiful. If I had white or dark cabinets I would leap for any of those three without hesitation. That's my problem--I love all three but don't think the overall finished picture will have the contrast that I think I need. I guess I am talking myself into Ocean Green. It does offer a nice contrast which I think is more what I am after than a pretty granite. I guess I want both for the $$$$. BigDogLover -- you said exactly what I am thinking. Thanks that helps a lot....See Morecherry cabinets and green granite
Comments (1)I have still not finalized my granite and flooring selections but I am planning on cherry cabinets and I've considered uba tuba as one of my granite selections. DH asked me to go with a lighter selection so I am now leaning to Golden Butterfly but I think the green granite would have been beautiful as well!...See MoreKitchen Cabinet Color? Comments (29)Prize for most interesting backsplash of the day. A pro painter may charge a few thousand dollars to do an excellent job on the cabinets. If it's the mosaic backsplash (complete with broken Heineken beer bottle?!, etc.) that really is the number one thing not to your taste, then replace it for the same amount of money instead of painting the cabinets. Don't spend money to decorate around things you don't like. The cabinets look like the "designer English cottage" style popularized by the Smallbone cabinet company in the late 1980's and early 1990s. Several US companies followed suit with similar fish and diamond fretwork and wooden dish racks. They were often shown with colorful handmade square tiles, not this style of mosaic. There's a Smallbone kitchen image (very much like yours) on this page: http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/1980s-decor.html...See Morepokeysmom
