Hard to tell on the sample that is leaning - could you take another pix with that in place on top of the stone, the way the darker one is?

When you say white trim I assume you mean a warm white, not a stark white.

I like the small sample on the ground and with it I'd put a cream color trim. Actually the trim you have on the house now looks like a nice cream.

I like the darker one, the lighter one seems to have a pink tone. Agree with yayagal on the cream trim - better than white.

les917, this is a picture of the lighter one that was leaning. This is at sunset. During the day the siding almost appears colorless. I like it very much when it's cloudy but on really sunny days it looks a bit washed out. I'm just worried that the darker one will look too dark when it's on a whole house.

yayagirl, I think the current trim look pretty right now too but when I have seen the lighter siding color with cream trim the whole house looks really blah. The lighter siding definitely needs a pop of contrasting color. I've seen it with darker brown trim and the house looked depressing.

My garage door are white and I don't mind white trim with the lighter siding. I am worried about white trim with the darker siding. I'm afraid all you will notice is the white trim. The trim will be standard white hardi trim. I'm not sure if there is a variation of white options with Hardi.

I like the darker one better. On my monitor, the lighter one looks a bit pinkish.

I like the dark one too - brings out the depth of the stone. I also vote for warm white trim.

I like the darker one too. The lighter one does look pink, especially in the 2nd picture. I think the darker will not look as dark once it's a bigger area? Can a color expert confirm that?

it's hard to say seeing the little bit of house you show, but i think i lean towards the lighter color...

really hard to tell on our monitors--- i do not see any pink in the khaki sample--if it does have pink undertones irl, i would not go with that color...
i don't think the dark is too dark for your stone, but with white trim and the stone, might have too much of a 'tudor look' without the 'tudor style'... again, hard to say from the little bit of house you show...

I think you need the darker one to balance the weight of all that stone. Also, the lighter one does look pink in the second pix, but that may just be the effect of the light and the camera.

I would also paint the box bay windows the same color as the siding to create a color connection between the first and second floors, so that you don't end up with the top floor looking disconnected, and just plopped on top of the first floor.

Sorry, I have no suggestions, but I intended to post on your previous thread. It seems I have the clone of your house except for your lower bay windows. Some of the homes in my community do have those, so I assume it may have been an option for the original owners. I'd be curious if our interior layout is the same.

ok... you have alot of stone and not alot of siding...

based on those pics, i agree that the dark will look nice- the sample of the khaki on the 1st picture on the steps does look abit washed out... (and the sample on the last picture looks lavender! lol)
i'm not sure i love the brown shutters with the gray plank tho-

busybee3, the problem with the khaki brown is that the color changes depending on the light. It can be a beautiful beige brown or it can be a pinky, washed out mess. The shutters are going to be changed to black board and batten shutters to match the carriage door look of the garage doors. My light fixtures are a similar style in black.

les917, I would agree to make the bays beige but I'm afraid it will make the house too dark if I paint it the darker color. I'm also a little afraid of putting black shutter on the darker color. I was doing it on the khaki brown to try and bring some weight to the siding color but I am afraid it might be too severe with the darker siding.

bluebird, that is definitely a version of my house. I actually just redid my walkway to resemble your walkway.

Since you are keeping the garage doors a lighter color, you could do the same light color on the shutters and trim, tho again I would hope for a warm white, not stark white. The light color could be very pretty against the darker siding, and then would make sense with the lighter box bays if you want to keep them light.

I assume you are getting new shutters to fit the size of the windows? The existing ones are too small. Or just eliminate the shutters all together - you don't really need them.
