What is the room going to be used for primarily? A guest room?
Well if you are going Shabby Chic.. nothing beats creamy white walls or a luscious shade of Ivory. You can add color through accessories

What about a soft yellow?

lorriekay-the room is just used as a guest room. Mainly for my MIL and my Mom. I wouldn't mind looking for a very creamy ivory, but do want a little contrast from the white furniture.

How about a soft sage green to bring out the grey-green in the bedding? There are lots of pretty silver sages around.

I think a very, very soft robin's egg blue might be pretty in this room and be a nice counterpart to the pink and creamy tones.

I have 3 green rooms, also. The living room is a soft sage with almost a blue undertone, DS's room is deep forest green and DD's is a deeper sage, almost olive. I guess I believe there's no such thing as too much green, LOL!

I do like the idea of a very, very soft yellow, almost ivory.

Try Ralph Lauren Plateau. It is Gorgeous on the walls, it glows. I used it in my bedroom, in eggshell finish. I asked for a scrubbable flat but they said the eggshell finish is what I could get it in. It's not shiny at all..
Anyways.. the color is divine!
It's a rich saturated Ivory .. it will have good contrast with your white furniture. In darker light it will have a slight undertone of yellow. But it mostly looks like a warm Ivory. The name of the color is Plateau.
You can't go wrong with it :)

Another vote for blue. Ivory could work but I think it would leave you with a very washed out looking room. I can't quite see yellow. We have the complement to the bedding you have in our daughter's pink room and although it has lots of cool & lovely blue, pink, and some pinkish earthy tones, there is not even a hint of warm yellows.

I disagree that the Ivory will leave your room washed out. I took pics of the Plateau color .. with something white against it.. and my deeper ivory curtains against it. Even though the color isn't dark.. it is light but saturated. Creates a very warm glowing room, it's rich looking.
I took the pics but for some reason I can't find them when I try to upload them on my computer.
I would get a couple samples and see what you like up there.

lorriekay, I do have a sample of plateau and will check it out.
right now I am eyeing a blue/gray/green (BM Gray Cashmere). I also am looking at SW Metropolitan Gray & SW Conservative Grey.. Just not good at picking out paint and not really sure if anything like these will work?? I do know that we want a pale color without washing out the room

forgot to mention that I am also looking at SW Window Pane and SW Sea Salt although this may be a bit too blue??

I also like the idea of a blue-grey like color - maybe even something in a soft blue-green color. I think that would make the furniture and pink accents pop. I wouldn;t want to go tooo light since the furniture is white.

I was going to suggest SW Sea Salt, but it sounds like you're already on the case. It's gorgeous. I sampled it for my master bathroom, but ended up going with EK Aqua instead - which is another possibility for you.

Have you painted your DD's room yet? If not, is there any possibility you could just switch rooms so that you only have to paint one of them? We went through this EXACT scenario when we moved into our current home - we painted pink over Incredible Hulk green and neutralized a peachy/pink guest BR. I can't tell you how many times DH and I have looked back and said "what were we thinking?!" We should have just painted one room and let DD enjoy the peachy/pink. Oh well.

Well, we did think of that but DD is our only child and we really need a bigger room for out of town guests. (hers is a little smaller) I may have another talk with DH to see what he thinks.. But I will say that DD doesn't really care for "my" pink?? Not sure what she means by that, but I do know that the pinks she is looking at are more of a purple-pink??

How about BM Wedgewood Gray, Woodlawn Blue or Yarmouth Blue? They're all muted blue/gray colors. My youngest DD's BR is very shabby chic and we're re-painting her room one of these colors. She just had it painted a very pale pink and we're so happy she doesn't like it. We needed a color that would work with two seperate bedding sets and she didn't want green. I was trying to talk her into BM Kittery Point Green which I absolutely love for shabby chic decor.

I would do the room switch too- I hate to paint, LOL.
