The white tulle sounds lovely or maybe eyelet, or maybe dotted swiss. kms we considered the Target bedding . . . it would sure save me a few bucks. But DD just doesn't like it. She really knows what she likes! It's really interesting . . . I never had such opinions at her age. She really is an "old soul" and actually does her fair share of mothering me at times. polly we just adore beds with curved footboards!! We never even knew about them until we found the website I mentioned before (foreverpinkcottagechic.com) We actually wanted a twin bed but couldn't find one with that look . . . so we decided to get the full bed. Today we also decided we're going to get a crystal chandy to complete the look! It should be stunning since it is a south facing room and the rainbows will be incredible. We never had a ceiling fixture in that room so we'll have to run wires. I'm just not sure where to hang it. If we do it centered in the room close to the ceiling then the sun may not hit it. If we hang it too low it may bonk heads? I wonder if we should plan on hanging it over the vanity area on the window side of the room? Or if that really limits furniture placement then?

To tell you the honest truth, the two colors look alike on my screen and I don't like either one. Both are too mauve-y for me. (Caveat - I don't like mauve; I've never liked mauve; I avoided mauve the last time it came around. So, my opinion may not be a good one for you.) What about a nice cream? Several houses ago, I painted my bedroom Pratt and Lambert Antique White. Then I had the ceiling painted the palest tint of blue. I loved that room. My best resource for choosing colors is the guy at the paint store and when I lived in another town, there was a woman at a paint store there who was super. I take a fabric swatch, describe what I want, and he figures out which color will get me there*. He helped me pick out colors for our 2nd home when we were 500 miles apart and I was pleased with those colors until the day I moved.

HD? or does the consumer need to buy a second gallon and mix it 50-50 themselves.? and is the old numbered MS pink paint available at HD? or just ask for them to mix by number? The ballet pink sound wonderful I ahve long loved the color of ballet slippers! Well, as several emails have reminded me today !!! I usually frown upon cutting formulas. I just recorded a "Burst of Color" mini-podcast in which I said don't cut formulas. Apparently that was not lost on a the listeners who also read here. :) So, to clarify... some paint colors do 'cut' more gracefully and predictably than others. Slipper from SW is one of those colors. If you cut it yourself using white, you have to take into consideration the "color" of the white you are using. What colorants are in THAT can of paint to make it THAT white -- and how will those colorants affect the can of Slipper? Can try it with a small amount first, but to do that you're committed to buying quantity unless you want to try with samples - a lot of unpredictability comes with this choice. Plus, you have to figure out how much paint you need for the project. Mixing two gallons together is not a big deal -- unless one gallon is all that's need for the entire project. Ending up with a whole gallon left over is not a good thing. So, Slipper from Sherwin Williams is probably best 'cut' in terms of formula/colorant at the paint store. Ballet Slipper Pink from the Home Depot is #MSL033. Slipper from SW is #8358. Home Depot could probably mix #8358 and cut it. In general it's an easy color and I would think HD could handle it.

(BTW...I remember you, of course, from our anxiety-filled kitchen redo days in '04-'05. Your kitchen is one of my faves. I just finished my second kitchen since then. This time it was a new home. I've made a few driftwood-esque and aged pieces on my own that came out pretty good, but I'm aiming to make most of it from natural things we find. It sure does take a long time for driftwood to wash up. Could y'all start throwing pieces of wood into the Atlantic when the tide is right to have it wash up on our property, please? ;) I will post updates as I go along, but it's definitely a sloow moving project
