How to fill nail holes in prefinished crown?

We have prefinished stained cherry crown over our kitchen cabinets. The cabinet maker sent a "patch kit" including stain and a putty stick, but the putty (wood filler?, it is clay like) does not come even close to matching. I've been to HD and a large paint supply store and neither had a colored putty in a close color.

Is there is company that you can send a wood sample to and they will make a wood filler to match? I read on here about putty that you add stain to. However, I looked up the directions and it says you sand it after it dried. I need something that does not need to be sanded, since the crown is prefinished.

Any advice would be appreciated. The stain is Harvest Gold.
