I would go with either a "melted vanilla bean ice cream" color, or a brighter indigo navy blue. With a satin or semigloss finish to bounce around that dim northern sunlight.

I love grey with teal and grey with black! I have greenish blueish velvet furniture in my living room and I used a charcoal grey by glidden called grey seal but you could use a lighter one for a similiar look. I also like this combo with yellow accents or fushia. If you are looking for a warmer color a warm brown with teal is a nice combo too.

I'd go with a color scheme of teal, orange and cream. Using either a lighter or darker version of the teal or a cream on the walls. I'd also paint the table a cream color to help keep it on the light side.

These are great suggestions. Plus I really like the idea of yellow or orange accents. Great way to punch it up. Sounds like I couldn't go wrong with wall color of either cream (I like the vanilla bean idea) or gray. Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your help.

If you're going the vanilla bean color, you might want to try BM Papaya.

I bought a sample can a few weeks ago and am planning on using it in a hallway that meets up with BM Opal Essence (a very light aqua) and BM Dark Salmon (candy coral).

I would go with a warm creamy white on the walls. Paint the ceiling a very pale shade of the bedding color for interest.

I would do coral accents.

The most important thing you can add to the room will be lighting. Find places to place lamps to distribute light around the room. Maybe a corner with a chair and floor lamp, lights on either side of the bed, wall mounted so that they bring the lighting up a bit higher, a lamp on a desk or dresser. Also consider the option of adding a mirror across from a window to bounce some of the light around the room a bit more.
