mirrors and dresser advice
Comments (3)If the dresser faces the door to the room in any way, I would hang a mirror over it. It would not have to be the attached mirror--a beautiful up-to-date mirror hung on the all above would work as long as it is proportional to the dresser. I think that without a mirror in line of sight of the door, the room will look smaller....See MoreWhich mirror for over dressers?
Comments (11)I agree with Pal. Your things are more "country" (modern country?) and darker than the choices offered. I see frames in a similar wood to the furniture or like the iron on your bed - which is what I'd likely choose. Also, I'd only hang a mirror over the low dresser. For the tall one, perhaps a tabletop mirror, if he wants one, since it's too tall to see anything significant reflected. I'd put a decorative item on the surface if I felt something was needed there for balance....See MoreDresser Mirror opinion
Comments (2)Why not hang the mirror to one side, and then use the open are to accommodate a great lamp or tall plant/floral arrangement in a great container. Nothing says that the mirror has to hang in the center of the wall above the dresser. The size of the framed mirror you have found doesn't sound bad, tho. It will fill about 2/3 of the width of the dresser, which proportionately should be fine - and allow for buffet style lamps on each end if you wish. As for the frame, I think it kind of depends on the furniture piece below it. If the dresser is really massive and detailed, a frameless beveled mirror may look too skimpy. If the dresser is very modern and clean-lined, a frameless mirror may be perfect. Also, remember that you can purchase a picture frame that you like and have a mirror added....See MoreWhat height should I hang this picture over my dresser?
Comments (15)I like the idea of lowering it! And I most certainly like the idea of not cluttering the top. Adding a liner, to me, would make it a little too busy. The chunky lamp on the left helps a lot. Now... to find a chunky simple lamp with a West Indies/British Colonial feel that is not so busy so I won't take away from the roseate spoonbill. Ha! Any ideas would be most appreciated!...See MoreRelated Professionals
