Comments (10)Thanks everyone! Les917 - that is a beautiful beautiful beautiful piece!!! I think it is not wide enough though. Cindyloo123 - You are right, we need something on the tall side - we need approx. 3 feet high and want 4 feet wide to balance the width of the TV. Hubby had run all the wiring for the cable box and we really don't want to hang anything above the TV. We want some sort of cabinet/bookshelf/table/whatever for underneath the TV to hold the cable box but not show any of the icky wires. I am a sucker for painted/distressed furniture and I am glad to see many of you suggesting I go that route. Originally I did think that black might work, but with the kinds of fabrics that I am leaning towards with bedding/drapery, I think that vanilla or creamy colors might be best. Comments (8)@Jan Moyer We are building a guest house with 10’ ceilings and i am planning to install outside mount woven shades and sheers as in your mockup photo. I have 2 more days to do any additional blocking for shades and curtain rods. see photo i planned to hang rods about 9” from ceiling in case we later add crown moulding Question 1: is this height ok? 2. Is this enough blocking? or need more? 3. Comments (19)Most often, when you see photos of Roman shades, they are not fully extended. If you don't have a light blocking or privacy need to drop them down to the sill, then your concern about an inside mount interfering with the crank wouldn't be much of an issue. I think it's good advice above to pay for a rendering since custom work is pricey.
