I am struggling with Behr "Arabian Sands" which is also too peachy. Hubby says its staying. On the upside, it goes well with oak. It may grow on me. What are you adding to your Wilmington Tan room?

Yes. I used it in a project and it appears peachy to me sometimes.

It photographs peachy with the flash too.

But at other times it looks tan. The homeowner is fine with it but it bugs me.

Yes, overcast skies will most certainly affect the look of the paint color compared to a bright sunny day. I overcome the "my husband says it's staying" problem by doing the painting myself. Most of the cost is the labor and not the paint.

Prairiedawnpam, the trim is white and the carpet is beige. Chispa, I think I might just have to do it over myself! The problem is, I have no idea what color I'd choose! I obviously don't have a good eye for this. Any suggestions on a color IF I can convince my better half?

Here's the dilemma I've found with beiges. Something that looks peachy on a bright day will look just right on a darker day and at night.

Something that looks just right on a bright day will have a greenish cast on a dark day or at night.

I don't think there's a beige in existence that looks just right no matter what the intensity and source of light. Maybe there is one, I've just never found it.

I have SW Sand Dollar in my foyer and powder room which are both darkish and it usually looks like a pleasant warm beige. But for a short time each day, the sun hits both spaces directly and Sand Dollar looks like someone spread refried beans all over the walls - truly. But it's only for an hour or so each day, so I put up with it because it looks good the rest of the time.

In the end, you might have to paint the beige you like during the times when you will be using the room the most and put up with the shifts in color at other times.

This is a problem for a lot of people. Almost every day you'll see a post or two about finding the right beige on this forum.

I've heard good things about SW Kiliam Beige or Nomadic Desert, but some people even think those colors tend to be too fleshy in bright light. Others like SW Believable Buff or Whole Wheat during the day, but others complain that those colors look greenish in dimmer light.

Maybe if you live with in for a bit, you will grow to like it.

Thank you all for your replies. I will most likely live with the paint color for awhile. I'm hoping that once I put up some window treatments and artwork that it'll look better. Right now, I simply have furniture in the room...a tan sofa and chair, a chocolate leather ottoman, and an upholstered chair with earthtone colors. Thanks again!

If you add some fabrics, art or wood with a peachy tone in it, you may be happy. Post pics of what you have, so far.

How about changing your light bulbs...that sometimes makes paint look different.

In my post in baths and also in decorating forum "my expensive new bathroom is ugly" I just posted about how my painter painted the entire bathroom Kilim Beige including the ceiling and it is definitely pink or peachy pink. It was greenish going on, greenish in the fan deck but it is definitely pink on the walls now. I am sick about it because it cost a fortune to paint. I will have to wait until husband goes on a business trip for at least four days so I can get in there and try to fix it because he has also said "it stays". I have already been to the paint store so if you don't want fleshy toned color stay away from Kilim Beige by Sherwin Williams.

Yes, I always think there is an undertone (maybe I am wrong) so it is a matter of finding one you can live with.

My LR has a peachy undertone but I like it. Warm to me.

From my experience with paint, don't try to add any accessories for contrast, it usually makes it look worse.

SW Kilim Beige worked perfectly in my previous house. I also used a home-made mix of Kilim beige and Nomadic desert because one was too light and the other too dark! That house was in the northeast. I now live in CA and those colors do not work in the new house. I have several sample boards and so far SW Softer Tan and Macadamia seem to be staying the most neutral. I also tested SW Believable Buff. It has a bit more pizzaz than ST or Mac, but it is going pea-soup-green at night! I'll probably paint a whole wall to see if the ST will really work.

I was glad to read randita's post because this has been my experience exactly! Picking beiges or greens seems to be so difficult. Sometimes it's so tempting to just go with a warm white and be done. Of course then I would be struggling for picking just the right white. I personally struggle with picking paint colors that look good at all times of the day.

I'd try changing the light bulbs first. We painted our gym a warm gray per DH's request. It looked good on my sample board but as I was painting around the room it started to look raspberry!! All because the light bulbs were different on that side of the room. Changed the bulbs and it fixed the problem thankfully.

I've sampled Kilim Beige and in some areas it looks like a fleshy band aid and other rooms it looks like a nice neutral warm wheat.

Try the bulbs first! :)

Lighting has everything to do with paint. I tried to use a white/yellow that was in my tv room and it turnd pink upstairs. One room has more light. I took the paint stick downstairs and it back to yellowish!What an education that was.
The topic of beige has come up over and over. See if you can find some of those threads. Certain beiges are popular. BM Shaker Beige is one I have. Then you have to pait a wall and see what happens.
Althoough you are disappointed with the peach, it should be OK with your furniture for now.
