Need help picking neutral (whole) home interior paint color
Comments (101)Comedy of errors (only after we had a few drinks was it comedic) 1. We greatly underestimated the effort to paint textured walls, especially on the ceiling. That and we're 15 years older than many of the projects we've done the past. 2. Turns out we got the wrong color paint. I'm not sure why I had a different color paint stuck in my head and even though I checked color swatches I still got it wrong. And now that we're going to pay someone to do it I definitely want to make sure the color is right. Only after I came back to this post did I realize I gave the store the wrong color. We're going to suck it up and pay someone to do it which is good because that also includes trim and doors. Although now I have to take a week off of work. Good news: we can donate the paint to Habitat for Humanity ReStore....See MoreSuggestions for warm neutral off-white for interior paint
Comments (10)Is your lighting in ? If not forget choosing wall colors. Get sample cans and narrow your choice to 3 that you like not tons or you will never get this done. All your lighting should be LEDs in 4000K to make the colors stay true at night. I would keep this simple do thewalls in whatever color you choose in a matte finish and use the same color for the trim but in semigloss it will look like a different color just because of the sheen. IMO this si too soon to be choosing wall colorat all I know builders always want to have the paint done before the floors .IMO I would not do white at all since there are so many undertones with whites I would choose a soft gray/ green instead like Healing Aloe BM I find those types of colors much more neutral the beiges, grays or whites it is what I choose when builders are pushing for paint color....See MoreNeed paint color recommendations (calm, neutral, good with blues/gold)
Comments (7)All pretty colours. Top Sail is in the Green Hue Family the others mentioned are all in the Blue-Green Hue Family. Lookout Point is the most greyed of all the colours. Tradewind, although almost 9 points darker, is a more colourful colour than Lookout Point. Any of these colours mentioned will look pretty with those gold decals. It may help you decide by thinking just how much contrast you want the decals to have with wall colour? Subtle variation which you catch by the change of light as you move, or a strong contrast? When you narrow your choice down, I would paint up a couple of boards and apply the decals too. Place them vertically in your space to match the plane of the wall....See MoreNeutral interior wall paint color for log home
Comments (8)@hallettco The clear finish will not be oil as we don't want the pine logs to turn yellow. I am attaching a few pics primarily because of the wall color, not all have pine walls. Our trim contrast will be along the lines of Minwax Provencial or slightly lighter. To help break up all of the wood in the house, we did decide to have a kitchen island that is painted and we chose SW Evergreen Fog (.https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW9130-evergreen-fog). This could also be the color for an accent wall in the great room where the stone fireplace and large sets of windows (this wall is south facing), so a lot of light into this room, especially once the leaves fall off of the trees. I am just starting this search, so haven't purchased paint samples, but am wondering about SW White Duck based on this review, https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/paint-colour-review-sherwin-williams-white-duck-sw-7010/. https://www.houzz.com/photos/rush-lake-rustic-crosslake-mn-rustic-living-room-minneapolis-phvw-vp~103498591?share=houzz-email...See MoreBoopadaboo
