Color Ideas To Accent Navy Blue (LivingRoom)
Comments (5)How about a yellowish tan I know some people on here have those....I have a yellow LR/Dr and love it, but its a north east facing room, so it needed to be warmed up. That said it took me about 10 different yellows to get the right one....intresting enough I had to go with an orange based yellow as most others came off as green. Another tip if you go with a yellow...pick the color on the strip one shade lighter than the one you like... Good luck...my favorite colors are yellow and blue...though I don't have any good light blue colors for you as mine are more medium blues. BTW, blue couch with blue walls, might make for a chilly feeling room depending on the orientation of the room....See MoreFavorite Navy Blue Paint Color
Comments (16)After seeing the kitchen in the HGTV Smart House, I just picked up navy samples to seriously think about painting my kitchen cabinets dark blue. Here's what I picked:Indigo batik (that's in the HGTV house) It looks slightly different on the two paper chips (go figure) Also SW Commodore The others looked very strange once I had them in my house (Naval; Indigo, etc.)...See MoreNavy blue paint throughout interior house...How much is too much?
Comments (13)Hi, Johnny-- For your currently maroon room, I'd split it up in a few ways: Base, window and door trim to new white in updated palette (semigloss) Walls to your new grey in updated palette Keep overhead beams in current tone, but paint out the v-groove between beams in your new white (flat) Should add light to the space, highlight the roof architecture, and set off your updated flooring in there. One thing I noticed from your fireplace photo is that your wainscot paneling dies into one side of the fireplace and doesn't run that whole wall. That seems an odd place to end the run, so I'd consider having it run at least into the next corner or wrap that room, as well. Let us know how it all turns out - and keep on!...See MoreHelp with Navy Blue paint!
Comments (24)Apply two coats of flat latex paint to the grasscloth wallpaper, using a roller. Move the roller vertically across the wallpaper, proceeding left to right. Allow the first coat of flat paint to dry for two hours before applying the second. Use a paintbrush to prime areas of the grasscloth wallpaper that are inaccessible to the roller. Let the wallpaper dry for two hours. Clean the roller by washing it. Apply the finish coat to the grasscloth wallpaper, using the same method used to prime it. Satin latex paint will provide the most attractive result. The two pre-coats of flat latex paint act as a primer for the grasscloth wallpaper. Although it may seem like a nuisance, apply both of these coats, or the finish may dry unevenly. Hale Navy and Naval are both nice...See Moreterezosa / terriks
