I bought mine on ebay about 4 yrs ago...a 2" topper. Fantastic. Couldn't tell you where it was made but it's so comfy.

Not a memory foam topper but I got a latex one from here and was pleased with it. It came very quickly. Got the memory foam dog bed though. They do sell memory foam toppers I think I may have gotten this place from someone here in the first place.

We got a talalay latex 1" Sealy topper from Overstock and are loving it -- but they ran out soon after we bought it. Bummer, since I was going to buy another one: if 1" is good, 2" is probably heavenly!

Since you're researching this, you probably already know that memory foam is said to "sleep hot," which is why I opted for latex. But I haven't tried the memory foam, so I can't vouch for that effect personally.

Ach, I know I should have said: I'm allergic to latex (seriously allergic--last time I had a latex bandaid on after a mole removal my skin literally melted underneath it) so latex is out of the question.

We've had a memory foam pad for the last--probably 9 years...but it's time for a new one.

yeesh, you poor thing. I think there have been past threads on this topic, too. In one of them, terriks referred to this forum, which might help you out (and also mentioned that a lot of folks at this forum like the Cuddlebed topper from Costco, btw).

I have a king temperpedic mattress on our bed and love it so much that I wanted them for our lake house but mucho$$$ so I did some research and found out that Temperpedic foam is made from viscous foam and it had certain densities which go by numbers. A number 2 would be muschy 3 a little firmer, 4 is for people who sleep on their sides and 5 is for back sleepers. We bought five number 4 three inch mattress toppers off Ebay and there're soo good that all our guests end up buying one for their home. Our sellers name was HeavnlyFoam. I don't know if he's still selling but just look for the words VISCOUS FOAM DENSITY 4

We have a 2", 3 lb Sealy from overstock.com. Love it so much we bought for the rest of the house, including sleeper sofa. I bought really thick quilted mattress pads to go over them, and we don't "sleep hot".

Oddly enough, we decided to get a 1" Venus pad at overstock--I think they're there because Foamex went out of business--amazing discount. If we need any more thickness (I know 1" is very odd, but it's 8 lb. foam), we'll get another less dense pad for on top of it. Should be very interesting to see how it's different from what we have now.

I'll keep the idea of the thick quilted mattress pad, tracey -- that might be a great way to address the heat issue. I also read on one of the gweb threads that if you put shelf liner under the pad, it will keep it from shifting around on the bed. Great! I have too much Ikea shelf liner I bought in the as-is section a few years ago -- so I know what I'll do with it now :)

I did a lot of research on memory foam before buying, also did a lot of shopping around online,comparing in store ads, the best deal by far, also better value, is overstock, I have 3 toppers for 3 different beds, and 2 Q pillows, all 2-1/2" or 2",4lb. density, have them now about 3/4 yrs. and would never ever sleep with out them again, absolute heaven!! and the best pillows ever!!!

www.smartbargains.com. You really need to get one as thick as possible. We had a thin one that would have been comfortable, but it wouldn't stay flat.
