You export them from the computer they are on now and import the in Thunderbird on your home computer. To export or import in Thunderbird you open the address book, click on tools then export or import. Thunderbird will use .ldif, comma separated or tab delimited files.

Thanks, I think I can now recall that when Thunderbird logs onto an email server and doesn't have the password, a dialog box comes up asking for the password. Once given, then, it seems Thunderbird remembers. mona, thanks too, but I'm not trying to change my password on the server, just trying to help someone else get a password into their copy of Thunderbird. In trying to help I found on probing through my Thunderbird that is has both my log on and password, but I couldn't find anyway to load the password. Seems day... has a method.

Yep, erased the saved PW2 and tried to send an email, was offered a chance to inter PW1 and the transmission of the email went. Checking Options/security I don't find PW1 saved, I may need to click on "save password" on the next use. Thanks, this comphelp has been helpful as always.
