Thunderbird mass email question

I want to be able to send out a mass email to about fifteen people using Thunderbird but want to protect their emails. I have all emails addy's on one listcard so when I type Westcoasters it fills in the email but all addy's are visible. How do I send one that says "undisclosed recipients?

Hope someone has an answer cause I haven't been able to figure it out so far.

you have to select BBC or blind carbon copy as the TO method rather than just TO. Just select BBC then select your Westcoasters list.
you may want to put your email address in the regular TO field as some email clients will not accept email with out something there.

DA... thanks. That works at least for one test. So dose Control +/- on the active text. Strange that "Compose" doesn't affect font size while Display does. Seem either or both could be the needed function - but when composing it is Display that determines the font size. I'll Google for the pain size. Sorry to put you to that extra work/test but when I can't figure out some computer question my first thought is gardenweb/computer... not Google/Web.

kudzu9 Thanks, nice web site, and free, or do I get a bill later :>? I got detailed help from the mozillazine web, and among the recommendations was to "compact folder", which I hadn't done in a few weeks...and my email is active. I did a compact and bingo, speed very fast, well given I have the low-end DSL. The problem seemed to be more background/overhead stuff, as the progress dialog showed long times for "connecting" and "sending log on information". It also turns out the latest Thunderbird is 2.0.0.21, which is what I had updated to. I'll keep a copy of the speedeasy test.

This happened to be to an organization and I only know one of the people personally. The address for the one that didn't go was given to me and now I know it was given to me incorrectly. An O instead of an A in the name. I wanted to know for sure if the other two were sent, and now I know they were. Thanks to both of you for the replies. Sue

Thanks zep516 for the link. That is the information that I needed.

Ravencajun.. I do know about the bbc but when I typed in Westcoasters and included myself I saw all the addy's when the email came to me and I really prefer not to send other addy's on to everyone on the list.

That would be BCC (as opposed to British Broadcasting Company).

hahahahahahahahaaa yes indeed it sure would be LOL BCC it is and I did it twice! but I did say blind carbon copy, I knew yesterday was a bad day, that is my evidence.

yeah I made that mistake too.. I always say bbc, when will I learn. Again thanks to both of you for steering me in the right direction and I think I'll have to test it out using the list and the BCC
